People be complaining bout things when it is easy to get around most things by scripting or using little clever tricks... While the new RPG MV looks quite awesome, I won't use it for my game Wonder's War. The only thing I could benefit from it is the increase from 999 to 2000. Probably if I make another game it would be on MV. I'm quite interested to see what new scripts will be made for the RGSS4 that is likely to appear on this platform. I think it will quite boost up this site's popularity for a bit with a lot of new people. But now that I think of it, it would be quite awesome if you could convert maps and things you are currently doing in Ace or XP and move the project to MV, then it would likely get a ton more popularity with people on the community, and if it supports Mack and Chibi sprites. Wouldn't that be something?

If I were to make a suggestion for what kind of music to make... I would say something that is action packed, that sounds like a battle theme. While your pieces are all really nice, they are mostly too quiet, soothing, or slow. It would be $00p4h 4wzum to hear some tracks like that from you.

Here's a thing up for debate: Who do you think is the best villain in video games, tv, and books? You can vote one in each category. For me it would be: Book: Joseph Strorm and the Spider Man from the Chrysalids I hate hate hate these guys. They comes from a book I don't really like, but I had to read because of school. Joseph is the father of the protagonist (David), and serves as the main protagonist for the first half of the book. He makes me hate for everything he stands for, he is an abusive parent, abusive community citizen, he enforces things or he kills it, and he combines a lot of traits that are terrible about humanity. He terrorizes and hurts those who are different from "the norm", he embarrasses and verbally abuses David for uses a loose and harmless expression, he actually harms David which scars him for life and changes a lot of the outcome to the story, he uses the bible to forgive all of his actions and says that he is a disciple of god, and because of him and his stubbornness to realize he needs to be able to act on his own and not rely on a book that speaks of "truths about how to live", he is going to destroy any remaining humans in this post apocalyptic society. He is not implied to be, but it can be guessed that he is racist, sexist, homophobic... read the book and you'll understand how much hate he has for things that aren't "right". He serves as a great villain for the first half. After he almost completely disappears from the book, the protagonists travel to the fringes community. There we get a good look at the character whose name I only remember as the "Spider Man". He is a mutant which is shunned by anyone who is of the "Norm", for only being tall and having long ligaments. You see him once earlier in the story, and he looks like one of the actually nice guys in the story. Then you learn some facts about him that I shall remain unspoiled. You see from his perspective that he leads the mutants which are outcasted by the "norms", and he shows much hated towards "norms". You first hate him when he shows his selfish desire for something, which would ruin the lives of the main protagonists (it gets more disturbing when you think about it more), then you realize that he has already caused a lot of fear in the "norms" because he is an iconic symbol to them, and finally, all he does is create more reasons for "norms" to hate mutants. He plans attacks on them, scares them, spites hateful words towards them, and riles up the other mutants to show retaliation towards their actions. He is probably a good chunk of the reason why Joseph Strorm really hates mutants, and is scared of them living in the community, because of how powerful the Spider Man thinks himself to be, and how Joseph actually thinks how powerful mutants actually are, when mutants are not much different than "norms" in many ways. TV: Griffith from Berserk ... I was going to choose Joker, but he was better in the comics than the show I would say. Then Griffith came to mind, and... Griffith... You were an awesome character... Then you did that... And that happened... Just... Hope on the greatest villains list... He was a great character in the beginning of the story, but how he succumed to his dreams over his friends made him a really memorable villain for me... So much marveling at wow... Video Game: Kefka Palazzo Son of a submariner how couldn't I? While all of us here on GDU would like to put our own villain on this list, just don't be that girl or guy and do that. Summarizing him up, he actually destroys most of the world, backstabs almost everybody (with the 3 people he didn't are called me, myself, and I), has an awesome appearance, has the most interesting dialogue, you can't relate to him in the slightest, there are other things, but it is also worth mentioning his laugh, and his final boss theme. He is usually really high on villain lists when somebody else doesn't choose selfieroth or kuchie coo. What sets Kefka out from all those other Final Fantasy villains who want to destroy the world is that Kefka only wants to destroy the world (or not really even destroy the world, he loves destruction in any form) is that he does it purely out of the fact that he can't feel anything, not being able to grasp the concept of love or worth in life, while others like it just because they are depressed or sad about not being real or the fact that they won't exist in their world once they are gone. Kefka is just a great villain, and if he is ripping off the joker, he's a pretty good and quite not joker rip off other than the fact that they are both crazy and dress like clowns, nothing is the same other than that. Then there is the fans who do stuff like this which make me laugh, for Kefka is such an awesome villain who deserves all the praise. Well, that did work... and OMG. This is possibly the best puzzle game idea I have ever tried! I love how things are limited, and how you can learn from mistakes. You make great emphasis on the save feature, making me want to save on separate files so that if I screw up I can fix it. And that number puzzle, awesome. You really reach out to the player on a level where you have to feel like you're outsmarting the game in order to complete it, and I feel satisfied and happy to solve these puzzles on my own. I won't spoil what is in the game, but I would really wish that there was a better AI for the beast that hunts you in the demo, for it was very annoying to get by it in the beginning since the space is small. There was also a clipping bug where the game teleports me onto the cave when going from the 3rd room of the cave into the 2nd room, I can move up and be on the wall of the cave. There was even a bug where the lamp reignites after it douses for good, which should be fixed. One last thing I would personally love is custom graphics, like a more emotional looking character, darker environments, custom tilesets, and more ominous audio. Though graphics and sound don't make a great game, they just make it more memorable. But overall, I would suggest a play to anyone who has 15 minutes of their life to try this game, for it is a great mind boggling experience.

RTP graphics are fine in some ways. I wouldn't use the RTP hero sprites unless if he/she went through some reskin or edit. If you want to use the monster, spiritual, animal, or civilian graphics, I would accept that because they can be annoying to make yourself if you have lots in your game. And for villain sprites, don't even, make your own villain(s). There are many ways to make sprites yourself, and they aren't hard to make. For the RTP music, some are alright, with some modification. Like changing the pitch/speed. I would rather use music from a website that allows free use of their music or bought off of steam for use in a game. Music is pretty rad if you can make it yourself somehow, like using fruityloops to make it. It would add some great uniqueness to your game. I hope to get fruityloops in the future. Finally, the scenery of a game I'll pass. Go ahead and use the RTP graphics, but I'll make one suggestion that goes for using anything. It doesn't matter what graphic you are using for your game, just make the scene interesting and have it serve it's purpose effectively. You can spend 1000$ on a scene and just pull off a flop where you can clip through everything, the player doesn't know where to go, there is too much space between things, the ground is plain, and yeah... Just as long as you put in effort into your scenes, any graphic is acceptable. Battlers are also quite fine, because there aren't enough battlers that come with the RTP, so you'll need more. And for everything else, you can change or add as much as you want, just try to have it match your game and set up a perfect atmosphere. So that is what I got on this matter. Ardi out.

When I download the file, all I get is a file... I can't do anything with the file except open it in a browser just to download the same file again. Is there something I'm supposed to do with it or am I not supposed to get just a plain file I can't open.

Everybody looks down on it, but understands and forgives it at the same time. But since, like, all of us pirated something at one point or another, might as well call this website GPU (Game Pirating Unlimited). I feel like when my game is done, I would just like people to enjoy what I made, but It would be better if people bought it, cause I'm spending a lot of time into my game, and that would be nice to make some money for it.

So on a forum I posted a few days ago, there was a talk about piracy. What is your opinion on piracy? Should it be acceptable? Should it be prohibitied? A bit of Both? I personally think that in some cases it should never be used. If it is an old file that is inaccessible to the public, that is fine. If the file is of a game that you won't find in a store or would not mean anything if you bought it, like a game which doesn't have much to show or demonstrate about it, that is fine. If it is music, I don't really care for I can find free music on so many websites. If it is a program that doesn't offer a trial, that is fine. If it is from somebody or some company that p***es you off by not providing things for you correctly or incomplete, fine. I don't agree with not buying a program that you are going to use for a long time, a game which you'll play for loads of hours that isn't a game for something old like the snes or ps1, or to sell out to others for personal gain. I haven't pirated anything from the pirate bay, but I have used free music downloading websites like... (is there a rule against mentioning websites you can use that offer things you usually have to pay for?) Definitely pirating is a thing that people can have different opinions about. I would definitely dislike it if people took something hard earned from me for free when I ask for something in return, but I wouldn't do anything about it. I would hate it and do something about it when people use my own work for public use or personal gain when I said that you couldn't or never gave permission. So how about your own opinion?

I want to make a video of gameplay of my game, but I don't know what is the best recording software for screen capping my game that is free. I tried Ezvid, but nothing worked for me no matter what I did. So what is your suggestion?

I would disagree with the demo part, but agree with everything else. For not every game can have a demo, my demo I'm working on isn't even of the original game, and that is going to take a while to complete now looking at it. Also btw... what if instead of having screenshots you have the option to post a video of your game instead? That would be an option I think.

Why don't you ask new users like me or DustyZiroto some questions as to why we are here on this website, what attracted us here, stuff like that. Then you can get an idea of what attracts new members to the website so you'll know what to improve upon. Then for what you should focus on, I still feel like one of the few people on this website that uses RPG Maker VX Ace, or is the preferred software for oneself. Though when I look at the first page of the new games... most of them are on the Ace platform, and those ones are not being worked on, and just sit there as inactive projects. Then you take a look at the current top grossing games on that front page, and you see that Prophet Sword, Oni's Era, 1on1 Medabot, my game Wonder's War, and Machine Made Rebirth are the most viewed games currently which are constantly updated. 2 of those are XP, 3 of those are VX/Ace. Then I take a look at the completed games list, and it is full of games made on XP. Just a point to look at. But when I look at the tutorials and resources, I see more in Vx Ace than XP for everything. But it is the numbers of each that tell me what it up. They aren't big enough, when you only have 79 scripts available on the Ace format compared to a person or whole website that dedicates their computer time to making and showing scripts to use on that specific platform, there tends to be more popularity over there. Maybe just having unique scripts available only on this website would be beneficial to growth. The reason as to why I'm saying to get popularity is because when you get more people coming to your website, you tend to get your scripters and tutors coming on here wanting to show their own products, which would make more traffic if word got out that this website has all these scripts available. If I could have anything I want done with this website, it would be to get a more customizable game page. It would add for some more creativeness and life into game pages. Another thing I would like to see is online flash tools to make characters and sprites with, that would be super cool, and drag in a lot of traffic. One last thing that would be benificial is if this website was advertised on other websites, because I found this website by chance while looking for battler sprites. I was on RPG Maker VX Ace forums, but I don't feel much interaction there, or know of any ways to advertise your game proficiently. Then I went over to the RPG Maker forums, but my account there is glitched and won't work. I found this website many months later, and it was simply by chance. So yeah... Something that might get the site back in full gear however is when the new RPG Maker comes out. Bet there will be more traffic on the website then... if you decide to do a section on that. I honestly think that the only one who should be ordering around you on your life is yourself. If she is trying to get you to do things that you feel insecure about, if she is causing mental problems on your mind, if she is dissing your dreams and going against your pleasures, then there is something wrong in that relationship. A real relationship is one where both understand each other, and don't order the other around. I find it crap how she said not to play games, eat no milk or meat, and try to go for big victories instead of small ones. I've also had some sort of problem like this... First off, what is she trying to do, telling you what you should eat. Is she a health doctor? Is she monitoring your level intakes on different foods, because if you are happy in your body, there is no reason to change your diet, and the only reason not to eat milk is if you are intolerant to lactose, and meat if you are either vegitarian/vegan or have a acid problem for digesting meat. I'm happy with my own body, and nothing is going to change my mind about how I eat if even everyone around me orders it. Secondly, play all the games you like, just don't let it ruin your social life, or your private life. If video games are your favourite thing, that is great! I know a lot of people who have no clue what to do with themselves, and are depressed... I'll touch more on that later. If you enjoy it, that is a type of thriving which she can't understand. Video games let you get away from the real world, and bask in your own fictional achievements that you can't do anywhere else, and we all love it. What she wants you to do is join the unfair real world and take away this joy in your life. Do what you want to do if you can afford to do it, don't let video games take you completely out of the real world, for if you were lost from the real world, you'd be seen as unwanted to anybody who sees you outside of this fictional fantasy. Also, if your house is a mess, or friends or family want to see you or miss you, go see them, for having true friends whom you can chat with face to face is not entirely something you'd get online, though in some cases, this does not apply as maybe people in your real life aren't like you, and the internet is a place to find anybody who could suit you fine. Thirdly, she said that a few big victories are better than lots of small ones. From my perspective, if you have that one big victory, that is one victory, huzzah, you are famous for 2 weeks, then after that, you are just with the rest of the population, you've achieved one thing that not many can do. I find this terrible, for only admiring yourself over one achievement is dull and void, whilst if you have all these small victories, you have many things you can say you did, which average people find interesting, and can better relate to, for you are on the same level as those around you. Well, let's put it from us calling ourselves your friend, to yourself choosing who your friends are. I was bullied growing up, a time when I was innocent, learning, exploring the world around me, and curious, excited, scared of things, I had many emotions. I was bullied all during my childhood, and it was the one thing that caused me stress in my life. During grade six, there was one day when a lot of things changed for me, when I became who I am today. During all of grade six, I was bullied further than ever before, I would avoid school if possible, mind you I've been doing this for the past six years, and I was unhappy with everyone around me but my family. This one day however, I was doing the silliest thing to entertain myself out of boredom, then the f***ing b****es who were quite away from my seat, for I was isolated from every other table because I refused to go in groups with an entire class of bullies, so I was sitting alone every lunch for 6 years. They told me to shut up and stop doing what I was doing, I don't quite remember now, it's been a long time. I refused for I wasn't putting up to their bull****, and that's when a bunch of other people told me to quit it, as they the bi***es were trying to get me in trouble, when I guy came up to me to try to get me to stop, I almost snapped at him, telling him "And what are you going to do about it c*******? Hit me? Beat me? Cry to your adopted parents? Come on, you know you don't have any guts to do anything you piece of *censored*." I think I broke him at that moment, and I felt rather good standing up to him, as he had to walk away from me. Then a lunch monitor came in, mind you that nobody took my side, and they all complained about me, all 26 of them. The lunch monitor was taking me to the office, and as I got to the door, they all... laughed at me, and spoke things I don't want to recall. I snapped as I released something that I was holding back for all of my life, my uttermost insanity. I picked up a chair, and I slammed it down so hard, that the entire hallway heard the slam, and everybody was screaming. I was a lifetime monster at that moment, speaking to them things I still won't stay due to the foul language that is unholy for all to hear. They were frightened of me, even though I didn't touch them, bringing the false truth behind "Sticks and Stones will break my bones, but words will never hurt me." when it really means "Sticks and stones won't touch your bones, but words will bring you to tears." I was so angry, and furious. Later, while I was sitting in the principals office, completely another person, a few people came right up to the window, and teased me, that is when I opened the window and climbed out, but they were running, the all talk no buff. So I went back into the principal's office. I was suspended from school from the few remaining days, but it was so worth it for me. This completely changed who I am, I became asexual, as I hated those around me. I became schizoid, as I now have some new personalities I can change between abruptly without warning, and have feelings of solitude. And I was alone, finally, without any stress. I was, and am still, truly happy. I became someone who could break others in many other ways, with, or without trying, my mind was darkened for two years, as I couldn't differentiate between good and bad feelings. I lost the ability to feel for other people, as I can not feel joy, excitement, sadness, malice, fear, pain, or love no longer. I haven't felt any of these feelings for 5 years now. Finally, I had to start fresh, with new people who wondered how I functioned, as I wasn't... normal, you could say. I spent Gr. 7-9 mostly alone, but everybody tried to understand me, and thought I was just weak and stupid, until they learned my story, when word got out somehow, then they treated me as another student who is there, but should just be ignored due to reasons. Gr. 9 was a fine year for me, even though I was alone the whole time, I was happy just talking to myself. Then grade 10 came along, when I changed again. I didn't try to make friends, as I realized that I couldn't work with other people, or wanted to, when I met a few girls who invited me to join their group. I was hesitant at first, feeling awkward since I haven't talk to many people in the past 3 years. During all of this year, they have been my closest friends I have ever had. For they found out about my story, but they thought I was judged too hard by the public, and wanted to see who I really am. I was happy in a new way, as people began to talk with me again, and we were all happy just talking away. I didn't take this relationship seriously however, which lead to my new outcome. I was being myself, when one person pointed out to me that I was a jerk. I was stunned to hear it. Throughout the rest of the year, I was kinda just there, in the shadows, as she made me feel alone, and others found new people who had more similar interests than me. So I was in the shadow of that group. I got so angry at her, that she was pointing out that I was a jerk, when she was the closest one to me in all the group, and complained that I was too much of a cruel person. I was feeling the same darkness again, that I snapped out at her this same problem, then I crushed out all the little things that made me who I am, and all the things I can do which make me insane, like being alone, being guilty of taking and dealing cruelty, as I agreed with her that I was the bad one, for at this point in time, I realized that I had 2 other sides of me besides the one I'm using to type this out in. I broke her down, that she had to take a day off of school, and I horrified some others two, that I had to step away after what I did. I came back to the group, but they were less enthusiastic about me, so I tried my hardest to make it up to them, I didn't want to be the monster in my own story. I tried so very hard the next few months to make it up to them, I offered help on everything I could, I tried to give my best opinions on things, I tried to help them. Then I got on to one of their facebook accounts, and read the messages sent between them... all 203 messages regarding me as a jerk and ***hole. I was feeling alone again, and broken, that I deleted everything off of facebook, and stayed away from everybody again, which I did for a week. It wasn't hard, as I was used to feeling alone, and I don't feel compassion, so I was feeling betrayed to those I trusted, as I have been betrayed by many others before. During this time, I thought. I took a look at things from a new perspective. I tried to understand what I was doing wrong, then I realized that I was doing everything wrong. I wasn't like them, even though I solved the same problems they had, and loved the same things they did. I am insane, and I'm not the person to go to for help, as my style of solving problems isn't the same as others could do. My schizoid disorder makes me think differently about situations, as my way around it is to step right on it, and show that it won't faze me to change or back down from it. If I think something, it's true in my mind, the same thing any other crazy person thinks. I laugh at my own jokes uncontrollably, I laugh at anything serious, I think the normal reality doesn't have to apply to me, and all of this happened because I had one bad day. I ended up learning from my mistakes, and embraced a fourth personality that came of this, one that just fakes my lost feelings. I have also given up trying to help others with situations that I've only heard about. I'm friends with them again, and I have been forgiven, as they realized something was wrong, and all I'm hoping as they've understood my situation on my front, for my new personality is based around having fun and not caring how others will think of me, and that is more valuable than a billion dollars, is to just enjoy yourself while you're you. Don't let anyone tell you what to do, how to think, where to go, what to do, what to say, have it your way. The reason as to why I'm telling this story is that I feel like the person who told you how to live your life, as I didn't realize who I was dealing with, and how they felt. I can't tell others what to do when I'm not them, or try to understand when there is only one person that is you. They may just influence your actions, but you need the sense to know what is going to make you the best person who ever lived, one that was happy, one that was loved, just for being different. Don't face a problem you don't know of, don't touch a thing you can't see, don't kiss a thing you don't like, don't bow down to the peasant, and like I said before, if you fall into a critical state, all you need is a white mage to heal you right back up to full strength, and continue on with your journey ;) Ardi out.

If I were to make a suggestion, use a juniper, moss, or crocodile green against a russet, copper, or raw umber brown for clothing, it's basic. Other combinations include a chestnut or ochre brown against a cobalt or sapphire blue, or a butterscotch or honey or butter yellow against the same blues. It's mostly just looking at a spectrum of colours, then looking at clothes that suit what you need, this website has good examples http://www.medievalcollectibles.com/c-146-clothing.aspx that you can look at to get a good idea of how the colours should be set up. When spriting a character, you want your character to match the environment in the best way possible, while also standing out amongst the rest. If you were to look at the protagonists from all of the Final Fantasy games, they manage to usually do it very well. My best example of clothing that matches the environment with the main protagonists standing out is Final Fantasy 12, with 6, 7, 10, and 4 being quite close.just look at the characters in this photo to the rest of the game, and see how it balances out the colours to the environment and people around the player inside the game. Hope this helps to get a look on that character to one that suits your game.

I think Omar and Zahraa speak for some things, it is undeniably beautiful, but there are two things I would change to make it even better, the first is about your sprite that you are using, and the second is about some of the shadowing, which isn't as major. 1. The sprite you used in the first one looked very chunky, which didn't match with the rest of the scene in terms of graphics, but you fixed it almost in the second scene, but you changed the colour of his armour along with the graphic improvement. I don't feel like a bright red would match the scene, and your game does look quite realistic, just bright red does not seem like a possible armour colour, and it sticks out like a zebra in the middle of a grassy field. But I do like the hair of the character, it looks like it could match the art style you are using with the scene you are at. 2. The shadowing is great, but I would suggest a few improvements. Around the fence area, where the trees shadow on the fence, it is not as dark as it should be, this also includes the lamppost which also isn't shadowed as it should be. Other than that, the shadow detail is spot on, and looks great. Other than that, I have this huge complaint about how amazing it does look.
