  1. It looks very beautiful, that map you have there. But I would have just one request out of all of this... Please do not use a cliche storyline... Don't make the main character have amnesia, don't have the antagonist without reason unless it's a force of nature type of villain, don't use items which are used across gaming, don't make an awkward love romance where it's "I meet you, and when the story ends, we'll", and don't make a final boss that plots to destroy the universe out of nowhere, who is in a place full of "futuristic ancient alien technology", and has 8 forms, which all after has the boss screaming cliche lines like "I'll be bache" "I only wanted to kill it all" "Nuuuuu mai dweams!!!". Please. Ardi appreciates it.
  2. I can help Homestuck Friend, for I have a program that helps me make these sort of sprites. It doesn't take me long to complete a sprite, and I'd be glad to help for free. Just send me a message or something and I'll help out with your sprites.
  3. Welcome to GDU, a place where you can find all the help you need on any game you're making, discussion website, game posting, tutorial, and there even is a minigame page! Yeah, this website has a minigame page which not many people play... yeah... Hope you have a good time here.
  4. You know you make good music when I spend a whole day listening to it, I've listened to all of your songs... It took me a whole day...
  5. If this was a thing, I think a lot of people would want to see some or one of their characters in it... I would! Or even better, make it a bit like dissidia and put a popular character from the game or two against the main villain, that would be amazing.
  6. Even though I prefer Ace over XP, I like the XP one better. Dolarmak summarizes it pretty well, but I would add on that the colours used on a map can really affect on what a player would enjoy more, like in the Ace one, you didn't use many colours besides a shade of tan and leaf green which is all I really see, while on the XP one it feels more detailed which I have taken from the different colours I see in the environment.
  7. Well, I thought to do something fun, place your favourite remixes of video game vgm, can be battle music, background music, whatever, just as long as it isn't the original from the first game. You can make as big of a list as you want, just I ask that you do a list right and place your number 1 at the bottom of the list and not ascend from number 1. Here's mine, no explanations. 12.Count Bleck Remix 2 by VibrantEchoes 11.Dark Star Core Remix by GaMetal 10.Pokey Means Business by GaMetal 9.Ho-oh/Decisive Battle by Hito Ookami 8.Earthbound - The Place Remix by Adrian Navarro 7. 8. Not joke for this feed, no foods of any sort, but seriously, why is it that whenever I post on anything, there are always just a sudden 10+ replies to the topic that's been dead from a month to a few years?

We don't actually care about necroposting here, so when someone does, it just revives the topic.

  9. References to the pokemon franchise. I'm Canadian, not Japanese in any way, but Pokemon is a thing from Japan that is taken way to seriously, if you don't know what Pokemon is. Red is the main protagonist that you play as in the first generation of the franchise, and in the remake of that game. Blue is your rival in that universe, and he always thinks he's better than you, as you show him who's the very best. #nostalgia

  13. When it comes to censorship, I completely agree with how it is used in some cases, for we should have the right to not see what is not wanted to be seen, and we definitely do not want our own names to be shown up on something that would possibly cause cyber bullying, or blackmail. Such like the deep web, governments don't want people going on there because of obvious reasons, and there being very creepy stuff that even is banned in creepypastas. The only reason I would ever be there is because... I don't want to go there at all. With YouTube videos, people should have the right to be excluded from mention in a video if it could affect them in a bad way, like people who show stupid things that are put up on this internet. Censorship is also good in the way on how it is served to the public, like how in some video games or movies, whole scenes are censored, which is good when there is a well known audience that is younger than an adult. But reasons why we don't need it, go as far as just the simplicity of a form of art, or a freedom of laughter. What I mean is like when blood or the bad traits of humanity is shown in anything, like assault, drugs, killing, torture, theft, anything of the sort. I find it ridiculous how the media reacts to a lot of things shown in video games, like Manhunt, and how it depicts you as a serial killer, using brutal methods to kill people. The ESRB rates that shit, and if it says it's not for people under the age of 20, don't play it unless you are 20. Or the infamous No Russian scene from MW2, that is just like the rest of the game, and you can do stuff like that in a lot of other games, you kill hundreds of people, then shrug it off as nothing happened, except that these are american citizens and not Taiwan soldiers who are defending their country from you as you slaughter their numbers. Anything can be called an art as long as it invokes feelings into a viewer, and shouldn't be censored or shunned because of it. The freedom of laughter is to enjoy anything in a common media, like how people censor their swears in videos. It is ridiculous, and shouldn't be needed. Shows that usually have swears in them aren't for younger audiences, and it is mostly the parents fault for not moderating their child's activities. It's actually hilarious when you think about it, all of the popular channels on YouTube and popular articles usually have swearing uncensored in them. Like Pewdiepie for example, people love him because he reacts very funny to things, I do to for it. I could name some unpopular channels, but they use swearing in a very unfunny way, or censor it. It is usually the channels that uncensor swearing and use it in a funny way that are popular, and support the use of swearing in funny ways, as it is a joke. I find it utterly ridiculous how they are blamed for causing our society to fall, when it is really bad parenting letting children look at stuff that is not of their age, and play games that shouldn't be played for their age. My verdict on the terms of censorship are that you can censor anything you like, but it will change your overall popularity on that subject. It is an age where anything you want can be blocked or removed partially from viewers, but to block everything important is unfair to the society of the world. We should have the rights to not see anything that will scar us, but we should be able to see anything that will strike emotions in us, like how the actual deep web is to a torture scene in a game, one makes you afraid, the other makes you realize how dark we can be as humans with minds. Another thing is that swearing and gore shouldn't be disabled for a game unless if it is extremely inappropriate for the game, like you don't need gore in De Blob or the Kirby franchise (unless you are a final boss in a game from Kirby), but to dis-include sex and violence from GTA or Call of Duty which are games about real life, which don't get more real when you think about it, are ridiculous, for those games aren't for children, but for people over the age of 18/17 whatev. Which brings me to my final point, adults these days do not understand how the world works, for the time they've lived in this world, they lived in a time where the government hid everything from the eyes, due to the lack of communication and views on different societies which was inaccessible to them, but now everyone has access to the internet, which was made for adults to get work done. The internet wasn't made for games and to expose inappropriate subjects to children, it was meant as a gateway for mature people to learn about the world they lived in, and are living in. But in recent years, video games rose from just play games for children, and evolved to include the older audience, which adults still somehow believe are meant for children to enjoy. The real problem is in this issue is parents do not understand what it is they are letting their children view, in a place that was not made for children in the first place. The ultimate censorship that I will always support is the censorship from parents, who should know what kids these days should grow up with as the ascend to the next generation of people to run this world. It never harms to protect children from reality, but it harms if you don't show them at all. Well that was long, so I'mma be going now, tried not to copy off of what other people said for their reasons are good. Ardi out.
  14. My name is very technical, and it is a bit of a story. I wanted an epic name that didn't sound like what you would see online, like combining 2 words and adding 4 numbers, for that is kind of silly in my eyes, for if I want to sign into something, I don't want to type two words forgetting the space, and inputting 4 numbers correctly and stuff like that, it would take too long. So I tried to come up with a name that you would hear in something like a spartan movie or like some legendary knight, which was Arkarion, but I didn't like it, for it wasn't catchy. One day I saw Arceus's name, that god Pokemon, which I thought was awesome, so I stole the last bit of that name. So I had Arkaceus, but for obvious reasons, I didn't choose it. Did a little revamping, and I came up with Ardaceus. I liked this name because no matter how you say it, you can't get it wrong. For I come from Finnish decent, and Finlanders have bad times pronouncing stuff, but we understand each other quite well despite it. Here are the many ways you can say it: Ard a c us Ard ache e us Ard a cus R D C S (hey look, my name doesn't need vowels! aRDaCeuS) R D Ardee Ardi R da cause a Yeah... Ardi out... or R D, Ardee... bleh, out.
  15. Thank you very much, I prefer to use One Drive when it comes to this stuff, for it makes it 8000000000000x easier for me to go on multiple computers to work on my project. Now I'm looking forward to an extra half hour of my day not waiting for a dam game to save, just so I can spend 2 seconds on the actual game to see if something works.
  16. So how do I disable the cloud on RPG Maker VX Ace?
  17. Well, I have come into an issue in RPG Maker VX Ace that has been the only problem I can not get around. It used to be in the past whenever I wanted to save my game, that the program would freeze for about half a minute to save, to pop up a message saying I needed 93MB to save the game to steam cloud, but I only had 60MB, clear your blah blah blah. I ignored it because it wasn't a big problem, half a minute wasn't a long wait. But earlier today, I tried to save my game after importing like 4-6 scripts, and building like 3 maps. The game took around 5 minutes to save, which I found really weird. But when the error message showed up, I got this: What the... Terrabyte??? How even- Lik- I don't- Who? What? Where When Why? How? Could anyone explain to me what I'm looking at, and how to prevent it, because I would like to not receive these messages after 5 minutes of trying to save my game, thank you.

  20. I'm more excited for final fantasy 15 to be honest, because final fantasy 7 wasn't as great of a game for me or memorable. But what I am interested in this game is how the remake will play out, if there will be new features, a different ending, and I'm definitely looking forward to the hd graphics. Btw sorry for italics, won't turn off.
  21. Wow, I'm the only one on this forum pretty much that prefers the VX Ace over XP... That strikes me as odd.

  23. Well, I wouldn't say that Chibi sprites are terrible and for lazy people. I don't think that the 32x32 work space you get is too little, I feel like my sprites are just the right size. I don't think I could ever use an XP style, I don't like how most of them look like stiff wax figures, much like in that picture. The XP sprites may be proportionate to actual humans, but whenever I look at one, it just seems off to be looking at, Kinda like they are too large to the environment. What I also don't like about the XP style is that because you have more height to work with, you have less space to work with at width, making all characters look thin. Overall, I just don't like the sprites used in XP, and I don't think that I would ever use them in a game, even though they may be more life like. Now I do disagree a lot with a lot of things said up there, they are not too small, you can still deliver on emotions and actions, just like the XP, except there is far more space on the face, and room for detail. Not just a circle with good shading detail, and eyes that are too low on the face, which is XP mostly. To call them childish is partially true, while they may be a bit more cuter than your XP sprites, people will always enjoy the chibi style, and it is far more diverse to include a model that has this creative look to it. Models that look more mature and serious are fine, they just don't look good in every game, like if your game is about war or is a horror game, XP would be a better option, but if your world is colourful and full of good emotions, I would rather like to see the Chibi art style. And "wouldnt you rather do xp style and get an overall better looking game." ... Well that kinda escalated to the point where a game's look is based around the character models and not the trees and the sky and the buildings and the other weird space stuff. On the other hand, chibis are fun to work with! You can actually do a lot with them despite of what you said, I have not been lazy with any of my character models, and I've been able to create emotion chibis for my characters. Here is an example: Well say what you will, but I prefer chibi sprites over XP sprites. I don't think that either one is used better than the other, but certainly neither is just easy to use. Both can be done well, both can be screwed up completely, it just depends on the person who is making the sprites. Ardi out.
