  2. Yes, a lot of difficulties. A while back I used to have another working with me, but she's left the group because it was too much to do in her little free time. But I've managed to fix all of them so far. Keeping double backups on my HDD books really helped though. And yes, I need someone exactly like that! It is the only way to improve, of course! I'll most likely make a heads up post about it when its near that part. :) And thanks, I'll definitely keep it up! :D
  3. Ugh, I haven't updated in a while. It is a big project for a single person, but I haven't given up. Lately I've been attempting to sprite my resources as it is the only thing needed at the moment; a tree house system or a tileset of the inside of a tree, and some characters. The characters you can see in my art thread, unless my recent posts were deleted or something. lol I have eben working on the lighting as well. With kellessdees magical and beautiful script (I lovez you!) I am able to make my maps far more beautiful. Right now I'm working on giving lighting to all the maps so far and later, I will try and animate them! Besides the graphical resources, I have been messing with my events. Before I lost my RMXP engine (I purchased a new one), it screwed up three major events and even though I could get the events to work in other projects, they refused to work in the Black Moon project piece, so I had to delete the entire map and recreate it to work in the new engine. I finally managed to fix that, and have moved onto to common events needed. One of the common events was a form of "limit" attack, called "Purge". It acctivates during extreme low health and puts a new skill in into the skill menu that the user can use until he regains HP. So far, after a while meddling with it and killing off bugs or problems, I haven't encountered any problems with it. Another event I'm making for the game is a gaurd system event, and a large maze. I am pretty happy with what I haeve done with the game so far and have found and killed off any grammar problems or mess up with scripts and events. Besides all of that, is the leveling system. I have no idea how to do it and have messed with it a bit, but the only way to improve that and the enemies is, I guess, through players, so I'm leaving that for later. But, on the subject of the leveling system, cam the enemies. I haven't figured out a way to set enemies to regions yet, but I'll figure something out. I think that's pretty much it for now, and if anyone is curious, I have played tested the game and the BETA demo is nearly forty minutes long. I'm not entirely sure of how long demos should be, but I'm going to assume that is good enough? Oh, and I also updated the main post with my new graphics and screenies. P.S The reason for lack of updates and whatnot is because I am working very hard in my studies (as well as learning Ruby!) work, but I haven't forgotten about RMing, this community and all my friends! I promise! I will finish this game! T.T
  4. I'm understanding this post as two different questions. 1) An actualy party adding problem along side your digivolution event and 2) your Digivolution event is the problem. Answer if it is 2) If you mean you have Agumon, as the rookie Digimon, have the skill to Digivolve into Champion (Greymon). I am pretty sure this is what you mean. Well, anyways, do you want evolution to continue outside of battle, or can you only Digivolve in battle? I think that if you only want it in battle, I can try and come up with some events. I'll look around first, though. EDIT: I found some helpful sites. http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/921745-/54399932 (tutorials etc etc) Answer if it is 1) When you add him back to the party, make sure you don't have "initialize" checked! If it is checked, the level resets and it doesn't remember what that character learned/etc etc. However, there are scripts out there that are really good and adds a lot more features. I would suggest, also, taking a look at them.

  12. I am very sad. I lost my entire computer and Windows install because of a virus. I still have my game saved, but its useless now. My ma can't remember the product key and now I can't reinstall. I guess I can try the demo and see if it allows me to work on my game still. *sigh**

      @UrHappyPlz: Ugh! I HATE blue screens! They are so annoying and can happen simply for software installation. Ugh!

       

      Good news is, I think I might be able to get another copy tomorrow or next week—might sell some of my old DVDs for some cash too.

      I will definitely install on a HDD! I don't want this happening again.

  13. It doesn't have anything to with the size of the forum, though some things could be merged with another in my opinion, its just because traffic is slow. The forum needs to be advertised or something. :( That's what I think, though, so...yea! xD

    Balancing?

    Hello guys! I'm trying to get my demo ready for my beta testers but I found the battle system, HP set up and everything is unbalanced and makes the game way too fast, especially for the boss fights. When the characters level up, their HP goes up by 500-1000 no matter how I mess with the system. Its beginning to annoy me. :( I've done some google searching, even with this forum, but can't seem to find anything. So I was hoping that maybe someone has some links for me, or could help me out? I use a leveling system and a sideview battle script, and would like something a little bit more challenging or something similar to Final Fantasy? Notes: I'm extremely new to this, so... Thanks!
  15. An update on Tyn. I could not find my original file of Tyn, so I lost the sideview updates for him and had to start anew. This is what I have so far guys. Does it look like it goes with his front view?
  16. They did looked good, mostly the title I think, but the updates seem more "gamey" (the others were pretty plain), I think. Plus I'm not using other people's stocks anymore. xD

  18. Thanks Tomo! Took me all day 'cause saving wouldn't save my layers. lol The moon, or the font? For the font, I linked to rgangsta's tutorial, which is amazing. For the moon, I opened up a canvas in GIMP and made it square. You can make it as big as you want, as long as its square. So for me, I did a 1024x1024 canvas size. Also, worked on a new title screen for my game. The old one looked like this one here, but here is the new one. Did it all in GIMP.

  20. I like the sprite posted above, he's cool looking. However, I agree with Broken Messiah. Maybe its just the way VX ACE makes the faces. I'd go with the sunglasses one, or change his eyes. :P As for your introduction videos, I like! However, if I may, you have "The world was once a peaceful place" and "People lived together in peace.". Removing one of them will make it flow better. (: I would suggest the second, as it feels more "human-y" if that makes sense? But perhaps a little reconstructing to something like "The people used to live together in peace". If not, the first one would definitely sit better alone. :) Just my two cents, though! Feel free to ignore 'em. :D
