I'm pretty skeptical over the concept of loaning money to game makers. These days you can get some pretty amazing games really cheap. There are so many professionally made 3D games that have had hours and many thousands of dollars invested into them. My point is, can you give someone (obviously without any established game making company because they're getting this loan) £15,000 to make a game that will compete in the market and make enough revenue from it to get a profit? However its a cool idea. It would be awesome for example if I could generate revenue with google adsense here and then put it into a fund to help our members make their games.

I was thinking about actually making a separate uploading system for the projects. Thanks everyone for the feedback. :) Despite clubs being a clear winner in the posts, the tileset maker came out the winner followed by clubs. At the moment I am working a forum clean up, clearing out non-essential and old database entries and files on the server. After that I'll restart work clubs, but it will probably take some time to make. I'm back at uni full time next week and I am thinking of rewriting a lot of my current progress. Thanks again everyone ^_^

Ah I see :) I suppose the concept of the homepage is naturally a bit messy. In fact its not truly what I want to do. Back in November/December when I worked full time during summer I developed plans for a new site to replace this one and the main feature there was a dashboard as the homepage where the content is specific to that user. Topic prefixes make this more possible, but also we'd introduce a tag system and then relate you to what tags you're interested in. It kind of like facebook in terms of the limitless types of content that will appear on your dashboard, and of course, many filters. Its all about making accessing the content you're interested as fast and easy as possible. Also I'm thinking of the ability to choose from a limited range of options where you're homepage should be. For example if you access rmxpunlimited.net, it will redirect you to, say, rmxpunlimited.net/forums/new_posts for example. But that is definitely not going to be a feature until we get some real options for homepages, for example, they will all be displaying content just filtered differently to show what you want to see when you arrive here. As for the chat, yes of course there are going to be many more features. That's just the beginning of it, I only worked on it over 2 days. :)

Thanks for your input :) Projects is definitely something that would go on this. I would like to have completed projects, screenies, and demo links but the trouble is that, from a developers point of view, our projects content is basically a block of text stored in the database. If I get clubs up and working, then that would definitely happen :) I'm thinking of ideas for the layout, and I think that's the most tricky part. I had a really nice idea I picked up from a developers forum. So many ideas, so little time :P

Wow I'm glad you like it :) The layering thing is kinda a mistake... you'll notice one goes on top of the other, naturally, but I guess I'll keep it now lol I didn't think of it as beneficial. Hmm I'm back at uni now so my time is cut now, which is kinda disappointing. I could probably do this forum full time for like 2 months non stop if I wanted to :sweatdrop: I'm going to say the status of this is on hold, but I'm really considering just releasing it and then slowly adding a few tiles each day or something like that. It just takes so long.... the tags system is probably up in the air too because its also so much work. However before I posted this I was half way through a front-end (which means you guys have access) system of adding tags to each tile. The poll does say 100% so I'll try and get it done for you guys. I want to get a few minor things done too though, which are a new chat system and interactive homepage :)

Oh lol I didn't mean their navigation. I mean just how they have tons of content on their homepage while we just have news.

:dragonshock: Try changing your settings to not use the flash uploader. And everyone should use the download manager... even if it sucks. I just don't know how to fix it.. i got like a million things to do... :pinch: sigh..

*insomnia* I can't sleep and was browsing facebook and after messaging the dude who created this page to gimme (and/or fb-stalking pol/lukes page) I came up with the idea: how about facebook user integration? So basically you'd login with your facebook account. I know its possible coz its an IPB default feature, but I'd assume that you have your own forum account as an option also. But I guess new users don't even have to register an account if they dont want to. Just you'd have a bunch of people with their real names posting (i think). I was originally thinking of a profile field for members real names, just to make the forums a bit more personal. So there's a poll up there for you to vote whether you would like to be able to login with your facebook accounts. :)

We could have modules that show top posters, top posters today, etc. Perhaps just ones that change daily to keep it interesting.

Agreed, but I don't think this was about race, sounds like he did it because franklin called him a bitch. I'm sure he'll get what he deserves from campus authorities or whoever you filed the warrant with. Lol yes there is a number of things you can do depending on what kind of forum do you have. So what kind of forum do you have? If its a free forum hosting service then your options are limited. I recommend 2 things: 1. reCaptcha 2. Challenge Question Both you will find on our registration page. ReCaptcha had worked since we installed in around 07/08, but obviously it recently failed before I added a challenge question to the registration page.

You can do that?! Gallery is better, that way people can view and comment on your images. But I don't see why you cant do it this way.
