  1. I'd say they would win without a poll being set up(i think thats what Polraudio'd do). So in the case that happens, lets keep the nominations deserving. Wow Nisage, I just noticed you're post count is really getting high. You could be the next member to hit 1k.
  2. You could be. I'll be discussing it with Emily, but I got a new idea for a staff hierarchy that should act as a buffer for inactivity and the inevitable inactivity of myself and Emily. But that's giving away too much info! I shouldn't do that because sometimes my ideas never come to completion. But BEFORE the staff thing, there's going to be a major update with the forum. That has priority, and this will hopefully get rid of the lag in the database. Thats two off-topic posts by me now :o back on topic next post, promise.
  3. Thats what I was thinking. Activity always seems to fluctuate like crazy around here. Well Pol, not to talk to soon, but if no one gets nominated then we can always leave up last months for an extra month.
  4. A month and a half... that is a long time, but understandable. Dont worry Wyz, I've been expecting it. Especially obviously Ark now that he is a father. Well good luck with those living situations, and hope to you and everyone else back when they can be. I'll be taking my leave also with my first round of final exams creeping up(they just dont stop), but as I said above, I have some cool updates planned.
  5. This category is pretty dead at the moment, so I'd like to fix it up! First of all, I would like to know what engines you guys would like to see RMXP Unlimited support. Emily and I have decided to diversify, or integrate, by supporting more engines than just the RPG Makers. So lets try and get the ball rolling. I plan to add the logo of each engine in the forum description so its obvious which engines are supported, and see we can't get this section used. So far on the list are: Game Maker Adventure Game Maker Adventure Game Studio Suggestions: Multimedia Fusion 2. FPSC C++
  6. Yeah well, the past few weeks have been real slow. I'm really unsure about the contest this month. Apart from the usual active members, has anyone really stood out?
  7. Well no Kiriashi, have you ever heard of a circadian rhythm? If you took away any que of the time of day, humans would still go to sleep and wake up within a 24 hour period. Its like, something in the brain. You're online now, why not post a little? :) Just kidding, hurry on back though.
  8. I'll get to work, but it may be a little bit small. I'm not good with making my own graphics, but we'll see how it turns out. Oh, you don't remember us. Well as I remember it, you were a rather loyal moderator who was certainty keen on helping out. You left soon after I left myself a wee way into 2007, if memory serves me right. If you want an update since, we've gone to both extremes of activity. In seven words. Similar to what a sound wave looks like with the crests and troughs. EDIT: Here's what I've done so far: http://rmxpunlimited.net/Satiels%20Website/ i have no idea what will happen with it in IE
  9. Yeah Satiel was the... first or second moderator here. I'm not sure who left first, him or ravenclaw. This was early 2007, so over two years ago. Actually he reminds me of you Pol ;) Satiel, if you post the full sized picture here, i'll chop it up and make a template out of it for you. I've made at least one professional website, an agricultural company in new zealand. By the way, the design looks really nice.

    My Project.

Hey Elandryal, are you going to continue writing your storyline?
  11. This is practically a goodbye topic... Hope to see you active again soon Kiriashi, especially in time for the super top secret updates complete with new staff members :o

    WoW Guide job?

Lol wyzrd did you notice the topic is set to invisible? Only mods and admins can read it. So this is one of those crazy things? Sounds crazy to me.
  13. If you could somehow make a list of .exe file appear in rmxp/vx from a directory(the script reads filenames in the directory and displays it in a window) then it would be possible. That way you could add games in just by copying them to a directory and you could automatically play them from the launcher game. I suppose the question is can the rpg makers launch executable files? Using other programs it is possible to do it, i've seen many of them.

    WoW Guide job?

Okay so I was a student job search website that is mainly for university students, and I found an interesting job in my area. I've heard of world of warcraft and its addictiveness, but I never knew it was so popular that someone is prepared to pay between $15 and $20 for guides. This is crazy. Our minimum wage is like $12.50, how much money does this guy have? Here's a screenshot from the website: Is this common or I am just not internet-savy?
  15. @Nisage & Jesse: this topic is NOT about Canadian health services. Keep it on topic, okay? Congratulations Ark, im very glad Ami was born healthy.
  16. Sorry to hear about that Jesse. If your cat is going to suffer, i think you should put it to sleep.
  17. Two months and no story? There really needs to be some action taken now if this project is going to even get to rpg maker. Why not elect a story writer? If no ones posting ideas, then they are the ones missing out by not having their ideas involved. Besides, the elected writers story can always be altered afterward.
  18. I do not think we can use clones for producing meat. If countries used cloning, for example countries where it is cheaper to import meat than to make it themselves, then they would not import any more. New Zealand's main economy is farming(im not sure if it is sill the our largest export), our country pretty much started with exporting meat on huge ships overseas. If cloning eliminated the need for countries who cannot produce meat as cheap as they can import it, then it would have a huge effect on our economy. It would have a huge effect on New Zealands economy. Imports and exports benefit both parties. As for plants, I think they're doing it themselves. Have you ever heard of asexual reproduction? The plant fertilizes itself, and since there are no other genes coming in, the offspring is an exact replica. I was taught that genes do in fact control every aspect of your physical being. As an argument towards genes controlling every aspect of your physical being, would you agree that there are certain sets of twins that you cannot tell apart? Assuming things like same clothes and hair length is identical as well. Here is where I kind of disagree with you. I havent really had enough education to know anything about genes interacting with your DNA, but stuff like education and nutrition are irrelevant. I think you're confusing study with natural intelligence. Humans are born more intelligent than others. For example, have you heard of the genius sperm bank? Its where people who are naturally good looking, athletic, and very intelligent donate sperm. I suppose this is going against nature a little bit. A large healthy cow cloned, is different from another cow, its bigger. Did you know that only certain cows are used for breeding? Cows with desired traits are only chosen to breed, so their offspring will have the same desired traits. That is inarguable because its fact. If you cloned that cow, it would have more meat on it(desired trait) than another cow(because you chose the biggest) and perhaps its offspring(the other parent hasnt also got superior genes). So infact cloning cows would be effective but it would upset economies. Its the same as if you cloned a short person and a tall person. If height is the desirable trait, you're going to clone the tall person. If the cow is large and has a lot of meat, you're going to clone that cow. I cannot really think of many examples for intelligence. If you want your child to succeed in school, well, I'd clone someone with a photographic memory. Whether thats considered intelligence is debatable, but education is irrelevant in clones. If one studies and one doesn't, does that make the studier more intelligent? If i know where I put something and my clone doesn't, does that make me more intelligent than him? Because I know something he doesnt? I suppose you can could it, potential. In terms of physical traits, can you teach speed? No, you have to be born with it. Same with muscle size, some people can build muscle a lot easier than others. Its evident in the difference races, perhaps because of natural selection. For example, in the pacific islands or somewhere it is difficult to survive. Pacific islanders are often large people. Favored traits survive, so they are passed on. The weak die out. Yeah, I agree. And I think that is the only use of a clone. I dont see any other benefits of it. Even trying to increase the intelligence of the population. We would eliminate thousands of genes from the global gene pool. Average people like me wouldnt eventually be breeded out. So there is no other beneficial use that I can think of. Well I think life experiences dont come in to it. A clone who catches the flu and then gains immunity does immunity of the other clone, but since that clone survived, so will the other once he gets it and he will also gain immunity. They both have the same mechanisms and so you can say that have the same resistance. They both will not be affected by some diseases. Yeah, thats right. For example, you're finished creating your perfect race of clones. They are all identical and equal. Suddenly we go into an ice age, every single one of them would die. If they didnt and the planet got extremely high, then they would die. There is an optimum temperature for all species, and natural selection has made it the temerature we live in now. So natural selection has no effect. That is only if every single person is the same. If one person differs then natural selection continues. To end all those things every one would have to be the same, and is there really such a person who is perfect and immune to everything? huamans are only around today because of diversity. I dont know much about the plagues, but i think there were some people who never got it and survived? Imagine if they were all the same, they would all be dead. I bet no one will read my entire post...
  19. looking very nice so far, I like it. Other things that some websites have are the breadcrumb links and copyright section at the bottom.
  20. I don't know if I'd use this in a game, or at least not as background music. Perhaps a custom system or credits scene or something. Sortof a techno song isnt it?
  21. At my place, the wifi doesnt really make that much difference. Above I said it did, but I'm a good 20m from the house. Once we moved houses I switched from a cable which goes directly to the modem to a wireless modem in my computer. There was pretty much no difference in speed. Pol i think you need to change your poll. (haha). All of us have a speed over 120.
  22. Your method is essentially doing the same thing here(the above quote), just you end up without the corrupted file. I think a simpler way is to copy your data one-by-one, testing them by opening the project every time, and this way you can isolate the corrupted file. Once you find it, or them, you can copy the rest into a new project and hopefully recover most of your work.
  23. By the way, there's a script that automatically backs up your data for you. Its by woratana. http://www.rmxpunlimited.net/index.php/rmx...to-backup-.html I think that would help you. Good work guys, you convinced him to stay! :P
  24. Haha, me too. My comp is outside the house where we keep the router, download speed is relatively the same but browsing is way slower. YouTube videos don't load like the used to...
  25. There's that one, but I can't give you an author.
