No, I left for three full weeks. I made this topic as soon as I logged in, mainly to see if i missed anything, but it seems everything went just as normal which was good to see. You dont need to apologize for anything, you've done enough in the past and the site is only here now because of you. I just hope you can find that motivation...

Yeah I am back. I don't know how active I will be though. The three weeks I was gone the forums seemed to do as well as usual. I was thinking of maybe looking for another admin, one who would be below Emily and I like noob saibot. That Posts in this topic thing is probably something you did yourself. It means your Display Mode is on Outline. You can change back by going to the top of this topic, click on options(on the right) then click "Standard" under "Display Modes".

Well, the due date appears to be may 20th, 2009. I think a year is plenty of time for you to learn. Perhaps you mean 2008, polraudio?
-
Me? I've been back for a while now, but thank you lammorra. I assume you mean the forum itself though? It was a big mess up by the host, but things are back to normal now.

They all look really nice, Rose. Good job. Doesn't Otaku mean geek or something?

I apologize for the recent downtime. It was not only our site, but every site on our host that went down. I think we were down for about 5 days, and no one was able to access the site. What happened is our host decided to migrate their servers, and it did not go as smoothly as they had hoped and everyone hosted by the company lost their site for several days. The host forgot to tell anyone this, and there were many problems for everyone. There were also some complications with the domain name, but after editing something on my computer it suddenly started working again. I have absolutely no idea how that happened, but I'm not complaining about it :D The downtime was unavoidable and we had it fixed as soon as we could, so things should be all back to normal now.

Obviously you didn't learn your lesson. Do you plan on getting an internet connection at home? I'm not sure what enterbrain will be able to do to help.. you just need an internet connection.

What Leon? I see Wyz has passed you on post-count. Thanks for the welcome backs everyone.

Here's one I did just before April.. it's not quite finished, there's a few noticeable mistakes in there.

Hey everyone, I'm back about a week early. So what's new? I wasn't going to come back early, but I logged in and I had a number of PMs about staff applications I set up before I left. Sorry for those who applied. When you apply I get a PM and I'm supposed to organize things. From the looks of it, a few members applied without making a single post, that will pretty much rules you out immediately for a staff position. Also sorry the two occasions the forums went down. Laziness on my part. But looks like the forum is doing fine without me around.

I am going on leave for a while, for about a month. I'm leaving for personal reasons, and will be back sometime in May. Perhaps this isn't so much an announcement but I'd imagine things will be a bit different for a while. Daily backups will continue automatically so if anything happens the forums we're insured. For you're problems and errors etc. Goto Emily_Konichi. Yup, I mean for EVERYTHING. In fact, bookmark this link: http://www.rmxpunlimited.net/forums/index....ODE=4&MID=2  No problem Emily. I'll also take this chance to welcome isaacsol to the staff(or promotion) to Moderator. With the extra help you'll hardly notice im gone. Goodluck for the next month everyone. Especially staff members since you will be running the forum on your own. Byebye ;)

You do realize those dont work right? Here are another two with all RTP Ext and Int tilesets combined:

It's not free but you can get the trial from our downloads manager(externally linked): http://www.rmxpunlimited.net/forums/index....amp;showfile=56 That sounds good isaacsol. At the moment I have to approve new articles submitted by the usergroup for members. I'd prefer no approval, but haven't yet figured that out.

How to put my cinematic videos to my RPG?
Marked replied to viruzx's topic in General Game Development
Amazing. I thought it wasn't possible. Brilliant find isaacsol! I'm going to add this to the site later on. It has a bit of action script that is required in any flash movies the user makes, so maybe some members will struggle to use this if they haven't used flash before. This is really great, you can do so much with flash. You could actually have games made in flash played in RPG Maker XP. At the moment though, it has many flaws, but it IS working. Here's a real quick example of a flash into i made in about 5 minutes: intro.zip Yeah it sucks but its just an example of an intro made in Flash. After testing it quite a bit, I think it's a good start. It isn't at all compatible in fullscreen unfortunately. This will work well for cutscenes though. It says in that topic that it just plays the movie over top of RMXP, which isn't really playing a flash movie in RPG Maker XP. -
Changing RMXP's Icons In this Tutorial I will show you how to change RMXP's default icons using a program called resource hacker. In most cases, you will just want to change this icon: , which is the default icon for game.exe which you launch your games from. First of all, download resource hacker. You can get from our Downloads Manager, Here. Open up Resource Hacker. Goto File -> Open, then navigate to your Project folder. Open the Game.exe file. You will now see 4 drop-download folders in the program. Icon, Icon Group, Version Info and 24. Click on the "Icon" drop-down folder. You will now see 8 other folders named 1 to 8. These are all from the same icon file, just different versions for different view types. Now to change the icon. Goto Actions -> Replace Icon... This should bring the following window: Select "Open file with new icon..." and select the icon for your game. You should have an icon ready if you're going to change it. If not, you can open .exe, .dll, .res files as well as .ico files for your chosen icon. .exe and .dll files may contain multiple icons, so you can open those files and choose an icon to replace the old one. Click "Replace" to replace the Game.exe icon with your chosen icon. Depending on the icon you have chosen for your game, you will see a different number of folders under the "icon" folder. In most cases though, everything should work fine. For this Tutorial, I chose a globe icon: Goto File -> Save, to save your new Game.exe file. Thats it, your icon is changed... In the Screenshot above you can see there is a Game.exe file and a Game_original.exe file. Every time you save a file edited in Resource Hacker it will rename the original with _original.extension at the end, and save the edited version as the original file name. It's nothing you need to worry about changing icons. Resource Hacker can be used for a lot more things than changing icons, so it is sometimes necessary to save a backup.

Well if you're posting you're back for at moment at least. Yeah you should take a look around, perhaps try and get some of that enthusiasm back.

Thanks for the positive comment. The reason I don't make more is I'm really not very creative. Al but the slime were done by sketches, and if you saw my sketches i bet you'd laugh. The art I see on RMXP forums is just amazing, same with the resources coming out today. I think mine would stand out in the gallery, but not in a good way. The other thing is time. I can only work with the forum doing the weekend these days, so time is getting tight for me. But It would be good if someone found these useful.

Welcome back Breadfan. I take it you got an email from us to come back here?

Here are some battlers I made. I think all are over a year old, but I haven't posted them here before. They are a different style to the RMXP RTP, so I'm not sure anyone will use them... Battlers - dont ask - this was a request for someone - one of the first battlers i ever made

Ah, you are using the charactersets I converted. I actually have my own category there: http://www.rpgrevolution.com/resource/thum...s.php?album=150 Thats the second place I have seen them posted. This is quite cool Pirate, thanks for posting.
