  1. Woah I missed the part about your son. Congratulations on that too! :)
  2. Wooh! Congratulations on your graduating and welcome back!
  3. So this popped up on my computer today: Is anyone going to upgrade? I sort of want to, but if my programs don't work, especially dropbox which I rely on a lot, then there's no point.
  4. It's cold days like these that make me think hell wouldn't be the worst place to end up. And I just found out winter only starts on 1 June T.T

You need to spend only one day here. You can experience the actual hell then tell me what you think :)

  5. I would say I'm sensible rather than lenient. The purpose of a rule must be used to interpret it. But yeah this was a decent necro, I just don't care :P So nomadic, so mysterious. But unless you're going walkabout in the outback, I don't think you're leaving.
  6. I love how Bob just happens to have a masturbation gif on-hand for when he needs it. Don't you just love that about Bob, Pol?
  7. Don't listen to him. Actually, I thought he was dead.
  8. 3 day weekend yo, does it get any better?? Thank you pommy Queen.

My parents are in Venice, so yes, it does.

  9. It's not as simple as big or small. Imma get more sophisticated than that. Your project doesn't have to be big to be overwhelming. It's all in the planning. Planning. It's what RPG Maker users love to not do. And I have absolutely no sympathy for them. RM is almost as lazy as it gets ie you point and click and build a game. So it's natural that people don't plan out their game. I'm not talking about storyline, I'm talking about development. RM really needs a comprehensive set of tutorials on how to do this properly. If you don't plan, you're probably going to fail and therefore you're wasting your own time and probably all those who helped you. If you go in one day and you're 110% motivated to make the biggest and best game ever and just randomly start mapping, yeah you're wasting your time. You'll go back and forwards and want to rewrite this, remap that, you'll go around in circles until you realize there's better things to be doing in life. One thing that really gets me is people who stop their games because they don't have the graphics they need. 1. Use a goddamn placeholder, 2. So you didn't plan that out did you. /rant
  10. Ahh I've come across that site. Their stuff is actually quite cheap relative to prices here. Sadly, the reduce in price matches the cost of shipping here x.x I'm also pretty useless and lost when it came to hardware. Well, I've gotten a lot better recently. I've been watching a fair few linus tech tips videos on youtube. I'm also looking around a lot of sites for different products then going away and comparing them. Eg I don't have much clue when it comes to SSD's. Some will have the storage but be a huge difference in price. Obviously the cheaper one is worse, but how do I know what's value for money? So there's various websites where you can see benchmarks and compare products http://ssd.userbenchmark.com/ Same CPUs and GDUs. I learn a lot by comparing products but that's me who isn't necessarily buying all brand new parts. I think youtube videos on builds is a good way to learn.
  11. Jeebus Pol, wadda beast. Mind me asking, how do you source your parts?
  12. Oooh nice. I had my eye on an FX-8000 series CPU but I scored a motherboard with an intel socket
  13. Ya, who would run a rig without their OS on an SSD D: I'm going to try and source a 180GB SSD for mine... btw, how much of your 256 have used up? You store other stuff on the normal HDD's right? And ya, I'm considering water cooling the CPU and GPU :3 It all depends on what I find, since half the fun is finding the parts. Btw, post your specs
  14. Yo guys, I'm really starting to get into this rig building deal. Oddly enough, despite working as a web developer since 2011, I never really had an interest in hardware. Of course you don't need performance to create websites, that's for sure, but usually they have interests in these sorts of things. So I've decided to build a computer over a certain period of time, on a certain budget. My goal is to get the most performance per dollar possible. We have this great auction site here, like our version of eBay and I plan to utilize it. My first part was an Asus Maximus VI Gene motherboard that has never been used, still in box, for half rrp price :) Anyway, back in 2012 my boss gave me a desktop to make websites on that I'm still using today. Current specs: 1T HDD space (not SSD x.x) AMD Athlon II X4 640 Processor - 3GHz, fan cooled 8GB Kingston DDR3 RAM (had 16 but one chip was faulty :O) Win8 Random Gigabyte motherboard with no USB3.0 NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450, 1GB vid memory Raidmax super viper case, aka Anyone else interested in building gaming computers or have one already? My new project isn't about playing games, although I wouldn't mind the boost to performance in my GTAV (which looks really good on the above specs anyways), just doing it as a project :)
  15. It's incredibly bare. It will take the player too long to cross it, they'll lose interest pretty quickly. You need to use the tiles towards the top that add visually to the scenery. Try and have every tile as part of the design. So think about every tile. Does leaving empty sand make sense for your map? Is there a purpose for such empty spaces that fit with the game's strategy? But the first and most important thing for you to do is look at other's maps and get inspiration. Take a look here: http://www.gdunlimited.net/forums/gallery/category/16-screenshots/ and also do a search for the screenshot thread on this forum.
  16. This is great, but I have to ask, why did you choose that theme for your site? It could use a bit of work :ok:
  17. I think it depends on your own goals. To make decent progress, I voted RPG Maker. But if you want to learn a real game engine and develop your game dev skills then I'd go with Unity.
  18. Moved to RPG Maker XP Support.
  19. Life is so short :3 I hope you guys have considered whether you want to spend your finite time browsing these pages.

  20. Yeah... I hate those games. I will look into it when I get some time. I want to make some design tweaks too. This site just turned 9 years old: And I have finally stopped... But when I get some time I'll do some tweaking. Got a few ez things I can implement quickly :) Just so busy these days. Lets do a massive thing for our 10th year anniversary. Then just, delete the site. :D Go out with a bang.
  21. Hmm, what do you need moderate? My original idea was to separate out the games section, i.e. have games section only moderators, whether or not that mod is already a global mod. A sort of separation from the other site. But I haven't really set up the system. I could probablly give you access, but do you need it?
  22. How about now? EDIT: In typical FleshRender style, he's unpublished his game. Unpublishing is generally the only reason you'll encounter a permission error in the games section.
  23. This would be cool! But I'm not sure about it's application within an RPG Maker, as you suspected. But actually, I would like to wonder why you want to sore things on a server? Will this data also be accessable by a web application? If each players data is only ever viewable and accessed by them, then there'd be no reason to utilize a server. Now that I'm done squinting at your post (due to the font size)... divulge your devious plans :3
