You are going to correct every post i make, arnt you? The forums should be back soon. I did upgrade my account, so this will not be a regular thing. I know you cant reply. But im not going to delete my PMs, i want them still, so my inbox will always be too full.

Four votes and no one has said no. Yesterday I did a bit of practice on upgrading from 2.2 to 2.3. Its not exactly hard... all you have to do is upload the 2.3 files and replace all the files in your forums directory. Then reinstall the software, and use phpmyadmin to drop the new tables, and then you upload the database. When you go the forums they are exactly the same, to complete the upgrade you go into the ACP and there is an option there to do that. Then you have to either remove or reinstall your mods that are not compatible with 2.3. Some are, some arnt.

Yeah, it is quite amazing... Did you notice all the member having the anniversaries? All the originals from the first forum. Lets see if we get around to our second anniversary.

I upgrade my trap17 account, so I am going to change the forums a little bit. While i do this the forums will be down. They should be back up soon though. EDIT: All done. The forums are working again, and look back to normal. EDIT2: The idiot staff at trap17 suspended my account. This should not have happened. Im frustrated as you are you. I apologize for this, and will have my account active as soon as i can.

Here is a new RPG Maker XP forum structure that I came up with for RMXP Ultimate(I forum i was admin at), but they did not use it. I think I copied some things from .ORG and CA. Its a bit more advanced than the current one here, and expands the RMXP forums. Maybe you could get some ideas from it, so im just posting it here. A while ago I installed a "Members Anniversary" modification on the forums, and had forgotten all about it. Today I got a PM, from myself, saying this: It has been one year since I created these forums, a forum that we actually owned ourselves. You will notice that my registration date is the 3rd of October 2006. I remember the day very clearly. I found a link to 110mb.com on SCMike's invisionfree forum, and I was talking to him about it(Check your pms on the old forum SCMike  ), and we were discussing if this was possible or not. I though i would try it out. At the time I had no experience with Invision Power Boards(Only invisionfree) or using FTP, or uploading files or anything. I had no experience. Also I had dial-up internet at the time, it was soooo slow. It literally took me three days to upload all the files. Three days! I stayed up until 3 in the morning each night trying to everything to work right. I had no idea what i was doing. I had no clue how i was going to CHMOD anything.... Eventually I figured it out. After three days I managed to finish uploading, and get the database info right, and tried it out... and it worked. I couldn't believe it. I was so excited because we finally had our own forum, and we could move form invisionfree. Thats how this forum came about. Its been through so much... you wouldnt believe what I've had to do with the database. But its still here, and its working. I then sent SCMike, Ravenclaw and Blazinks(The all mighty RPGXP Unlimited Team), and we started the new forum(Which was actually called RMXP Revolution but we changed back to Unlimited). SCMike, you will receive the same PM tomorrow, or whenever its the 4th of October where you live. From what we started out from(This: http://z3.invisionfree.com/RPGXP_Unlimited...ex.php?act=idx), I think that we have achieved a lot. From an invisionfree forum with a handfall of active members, that barely pulled through, we are still here, and now have paid hosting and even a domain name(thanks to Kevan). Despite things going slower than we really want, I am proud of what we have achieved. And even if the forums died tomorrow, I can say that we were successful. We made it. I achieved all of the goals that I aimed for with this forum. So I am happy with the way everything turned out. Now its up to everyone here now to make the forum more active.
-
That looks quite good SCMike. I will read the finished version when you have it up. I just noticed you have 702 posts.... you are now only one post away from equaling Unlimited's record of 703: http://z3.invisionfree.com/RPGXP_Unlimited....php?showuser=1 Just thought I would mention that. Thats a good achievement, lets hope there will be many more posts to come :D

Not just bots, inactive members. Even my account was deleted because I was inactive, but I got it back of course. I had many copies of the database. That reminds me, I should give SCMike that automatic back-up mod we have at the development forums.
-
Sorry. Some crazy things happened over the past two days. I couldnt use my computer, so the account was suspended. Its back up now.
-
I must have missed this topic, sorry about that. Welcome back cloudstrife.
-
Welcome to RMXP Unlimited Shenrai. I look forward to seeing some of those games.
-
Everyone here should at least register, if not contribute to the RMXP Unlimted project. Actually, i could import the members table from the database here, so everyone actually has an account there. Thats getting a bit over the top though. It's going to be a great challenge, and we are jumping right into development, so everyone come take a look. Ryan, both the banners in your signature link to the wrong place.

You know how you have to have credits for an account? Well I finally managed to get the necessary amount of hosting credits, and then i go to terminate my account to start a new one, and my credits go straight back to 0. Completely useless. I was pretty mad... anyway, I will have to continue tomorrow. I have to earn all those credits again... While I work on the forums, lets get back to talk on the project.
-
It turns out that i will have to delete my account and start a new one. I dont know what happened, its so strange. Its a good thing we didnt make many posts. We lost the lot, and will have to start again. This will take me at least 24 hours to prepare. When the forums are up, I will do a backup of the database regularly. I apologize for this. The url will be the same once i can fix my account. But continue with the flowing of ideas in this topic.
-
Apparently my trap17 account was not deleted, but all of the files and vital folders on my account were. Perhaps a hacking attempt? I dont know what happened, but im working with the staff to get it back. It may take a while, and perhaps we will have to start again, and i did not back up the forums. This has never happened before and is quite unusual. Sorry everyone, I will work my fastest to get this fixed.
-
You can download a demo here: http://www.sibelius.com/cgi-bin/download/index.pl Now lets get back on topic.
-
Exactly. The more resources produced by the community the better. I've used Sibelius before. I downloaded because the composer for the RMXP Pokemon mentioned that was the program he used for to compose their music.
-
What do you think of the forums? Please post suggestions for improvement. Not that thats important to the project... ;) isaacsol, I hear you can make music? We will be needing a composer.
-
Yeah, I just finished exams and have holidays so I got a bit of time. And my stay here is temporary. Its too bad you cant help, but we have always known you are a busy a guy. Since this is an RMXP Unlimited project, you were expected to be involved :D Well, I have a forum called "Brainstorming Room" made, so we can do it there. It will take me a bit of time to get a new sub-domain working, then I will post the link here. Although this is a really quick start... but members seem dedicated so why not jump right in. Ok, it took me a while, but i got the development forums set up. So please register team members. Ryan, I'll make you a root admin, so you will have full control over the forum and how you want to run things. And Mike, if he wants to, because he is the owner of RMXP Unlimited, so he has to have some control over the development forums  Tell me if you are ok with these forums ok mike? Heres the link: http://rmxpunlimitedproductions.trap17.com/project/

Welcome to the team! We are getting a few people here. I've started the development forums already. It should be ready by tomorrow(about 24 hours), it is actually pretty hard to change the sub-domain. The leaders will be admins and all other team members will have minor mod abilities, just so its easy to organize everything for the project. Thats what the development forum is for after all. Although, it doesn't have to be used until we are ready to start. But we could brainstorm right away.
-
Well, sometimes titles are not even decided until half way through a game. So I will make it something like rmxpunlimited_productions/game/forums/ or something like that. I already have a sub-domain but i want to change it for the development forums. Ok, thats sorted. The member who voted for no, can you explain why? I have a feeling that was Leon...
-
Yeah, but that is common with these sort of things. Really we are set up for stress and hard work. But yeah, its exciting. The writers will need a place to brainstorm, since there will be more than one. I will get started on the Development forums. But, before i start i need a domain name i can use. For example: name.trap17.com. What should i put as the name? I need that before i can start the thing.
-
Sounds like we have some dedicated members ready to go. To make an RMXP MMO, im pretty sure you make the normal RMXP game first. Am I wrong? If this goes well, then we could convert it into a MMO. What ever the decision, i think we are going straight into making a MMO. Now, I'm thinking the best way for a team work is a development forum. You know how I love to make forums  Ryan, I nominate you as team leader for the project. So what do you say? Can I make the development forum? I have a spare trap17 account and it really wants to be used. Im pretty experienced with forums, and it will pretty much be a sub forum of RMXP Unlimited, just on a separate forum. Can I?
-
Ok, I had idea. When there is a battler and matching charaterset in the gallery, you can actually place the battler or charaterset in the other ones image description. It looks really good, and makes it really convenient. Here's an example: http://www.rmxpunlimited.net/forums/index....q=si&img=44 This is the battler, and it has its characterset in the image description, which actually links to the charatersets page. Click on it and you go here: http://www.rmxpunlimited.net/forums/index....q=si&img=97 The character also has the batter(In this case two batters) linked to it.
-
Yeah it would be. Perhaps it could start out as a normal RPG Maker XP game, and when/if it gets far enough, we could turn it in to a MMO.
