I haven't opened up RMXP in a while, and I've never been able to map that well, so I made a small map for some advice: http://www.rmxpunlimited.net/forums/upload...y_1_18_2716.png

So much to post... We've had a rough run, thats for sure. But this time its much different. For a start, some troublesome members are gone. When I left as Admin I still played around with my trap17 hosting, so I learned quite a few things actually. I can tell you its near impossible to get rid of the forums this time(After saying that, i really hope it doesnt happen  ), I back up all the files twice a month(Only important for modifications) and backup the database automatically everyday in three different locations. As well as a backup host. If anything happened to the forum, I could have it back up in hours. You're member no.14 actually, one of the few I stole from RMXP Ultimate. Do you want to have your old account back? I was actually wondering if you were the same member for a second there. RMVX forums were made just yesterday. This is going to become a VX and XP forum. I havent yet had a discussion with Emily_Konichi, but you can expect to see some more VX stuff going up around here. There are already resources being made for it as I discovered yesterday, so now is a good time to start adding the forums. I will add Download and Gallery Categories for it as well, but not as many as XP just yet, as the VX activity increases so will the amount of forums and Categories, that should keep things nice and under control. It would be a great help if you got some members to join, we really appreciate help. Thank you very much for you support. If you would like to send me some pictures, that would be great. Usually we would convert photographs to suit RMXP to use them as resources. I think I can do that, I've just started using photoshop again. You're having trouble getting an FTP program? For this forum? I'm not sure what you mean there. Just incase you are meaning FTP as in file transfer protocol, then I recomment SmartFTP, I've been using that for years. I've started advertising actually. I know how to get traffic here, and I've done a few things to let people know we're back. The main source of traffic is through other forums, although I have no idea how much through search engines we have, but we should get a few since we google stalked us for a couple of days. You will notice the affiliates at the bottom of the forum. Each of those sites has a button for RMXP Unlimited, where their members can come check out this site. For anyone who wants to help in advertising, you can copy whats in my signature, and put them in yours at other forums. Its a great way of getting traffic. Here is the bbcode if you're unsure how to do it: BBCODE [url="http://www.rmxp.trap17.com"][img=http://rmxp.trap17.com/forums/uploads/1176045751/gallery_1_20_6015.png][/url] [url="http://www.rmxp.trap17.com"][img=http://rmxp.trap17.com/forums/uploads/1176045751/gallery_1_20_1332.png][/url]

Adam, you may open up your own mapping class. But it is a quite a big job with what we want for a teacher here on RMXP Unlimited, you would have to be active here, and your tutorials would be official tutorials of RMXP Unlimited. So if you'd like to, we can set a class for you here, otherwise feel free to keep posting this great tutorials. Nice job by the way. :D

It certaintly is refreshing to have someone like you on the forums. :) I have changed a lot since I wrote that blog having left for several months, but the goal is still the same. Not just activity but contribution to the RMXP community. Im proud to say we have helped a handful of members for a small community. Thank you for support, and we will continue to do our best here. I speak for the whole community when I say we wish the best of health for the future, and we support you with your goal of publishing your first book.

I uploaded a Macromedia sound pack to the Downloads section. I wouldnt normally make a topic, but I have feeling the downloads manager isn't really viewed as much as I would like, and I would like more members to upload their own files. Download Some of the files you will find difficult to fit in RMXP, but there's some good environment sounds in there that can fit into most games somewhere, and some drones also.

What site is that? The site at 110mb.com is down... an error with the database. I had to fix the same error just yesterday. I forget Pirates other username at his forum, is that who you're talking about?

I thought it was Christmas holidays. I finished my exams about a week ago, so I got a lot of spare time, about 2 months actually. If you need anything your project, feel free to post and we'll help you the best we can.

I was here just yesterday. Do you remember I was a staff member on your forum? Shadow Destiny has just been Affiliated with RMXP Unlimited, thanks Adam.

Welcome back guys! I hope you will try to be active. We are doing our best to restore the forum. Black Shadow, any chance of starting up your mapping class again the future?

Thank you Lammorra. If you are interested in the history of RMXP Unlimited, I have recorded it on my blog: http://www.rmxpunlimited.net/forums/index....amp;showentry=3 I haven't updated it since I became administrator though. But it shows we certainly have been struggling a bit. I'm about to make an announcement in this forum in the next few days, which is actually meant for Administrators only, so I'm going to go ahead and move it to Feedback and Suggestions. Actually if you read my Blog, you will see that the forums have become active before, and then dropped again. This for me is certainly nothing to get happy about. But don't worry, Emily Konichi and I will be working hard to improve this forum more and more, and we hope it will become an active forum in time, especially in the RPG Maker XP forums, which is my main goal. The forum has a long way to go until I would say its active, but all the staff here will be trying. Thanks again for your kind post, it really helps when things are quite down for the forum. Also, we finally got indexed by google. I checked this morning. Our old domain name is still ahead of us, and strangely the first hit form google is of our shoutbox. But atleast we are on google, and it only took 20 days. Actually I noticed we got 25% of our total hits in one year, in the last two days. Thats pretty impressive. Hopefully from this more traffic will be coming through here.

I split your post into a new topic for you as it was a bit offtopic. I think i have experienced this problem only once, and it was because I was not on the internet. Make sure you are connected to the internet when you run RPG Maker. I think this is how it checks how much of the trial you have used it for.

The best way to learn spriting, is simply to practice. I will give you some links that will help you get started, all from the site rmxp.org. To create sprites, most people use templates. This is what all your characters are based on. I think you will need an account to view most of these links, but I think I've actually seen you at this website. Here's a link to a template topic, which basically contains a bunch of character templates: http://www.rmxp.org/forums/showthread.php?t=4142 Now, most of these are useless actually. But you can look through and find the ones you want to use for your game. I would recommend these two(RTP Male & Female): http://img116.imageshack.us/img116/7060/male1kx.png http://img116.imageshack.us/img116/6219/female7ch.png So that is what you use to sprite on. Next is learning how to do it. This is done by practice and also by looking at examples. .ORG have an academy, or a bunch of tutorials on how to make games. They have a lot of spriting tutorials which increase in difficulty. These are good if you have a lot of time, and are dedicated to learning. I suggest looking through whats here. You dont have to spend hours on each one, just get the basic concept. Heres the link their spriting academy: http://www.rmxp.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=49 Also there you will find video tutorials linked to youtube made by Tana, which you will find very useful: http://www.rmxp.org/forums/showthread.php?t=21230 Lastly, I recommend opening up your RTP charactersets and zooming in on them. Look at how they are made. Then try to replicate this on your own sprites. Then practice practice practice. Creating full charactersets takes a lot of time and patience, so you have be dedicated to learning how to do it.

I voted for "Good". I would suggest added a bit more information to the Category descriptions, and merge Artistic Creation with Resources. You will find members post the same things in both forums, or getting confused which is the right the one. You should make a Tutorials forum separate from the support forum. You would be surprised how many topics get made there, and how confusing it could become. You could even split that one forum into 6. We used to be on invisionfree actually, then we moved here. If you need skins, here's a good site: http://forums.ifskinzone.net/index.php

I didnt assume you hadnt looked through the database, I worded that wrong. Sorry, I did underestimate you there. You do even have started your own RMXP forum. Okay, this is a bit offtopic but I uploaded some things you may find usefull to your game. These are closest things I could find to Gangsters: http://www.rmxpunlimited.net/forums/index....q=sc&cat=12 And I uploaded a modern RTP Characterset pack, which contains ALL of those images uploaded to the Gallery. The pack just contains females, but not ganster females: http://www.rmxpunlimited.net/forums/index....amp;showfile=20
