In future, you don't really need to change the topic title to "delete". It's obvious you understand the value of these topics to other people searching for the same answer so it would be deconstructive to delete it. Similarly the new topic title makes it unsearchable. Glad you figured it out though :)

Nice job :D +rep I added your download as an attachment because I've seen tons and tons of topics that rely on downloads that are no longer found. In fact I'm considering making it a rule that members have to attach so the files are stored locally, and that would save a lot of lost files.

That's not practical because once one member posts, it may not necessarily be a post worthy of rep, so we would end up with not so rep worthy posts getting rep. It would also create a barrier to receiving support which is definitely undesirable. I can easily put a notice in each member's reply, that only the topic author can see, and this would remind the author to give rep if the other members helped them. And yeah, the central bank of GDU will engage in policies to keep inflation under control. And we plan to have things to buy on GDU: features to unlock, promotions and ad space, etc.

Mass PM for Motm? It wouldn't really be appropriate because onlu currently active members should be able to nominate and vote, because they know who deserve it, therefore we should be able to reach everyone we need to by advertising around the site. A banner here and there.

That's true, and its even more true right now. We have a rep system but when members help out other members, its largely ignored. But we do some things to help that like remind members to give rep to those who help them, which we haven't got at all right now. Furthermore, I can foresee further reminders in signatures and posts if the value of the rep is recognized by members.

If you had been back for 2 weeks, I'm sure someone would have nominated you. I really get some systems up so Motm is more shown on more places than the recent posts.

Ahh Creation Asylum, my first ever forum and inspiration for RMXPU, one of the mightiest RM forums in its day that has fallen so incredibly far. I still visited it in the many many years I've had an account (like 6 years now), but now it's just a place full of spammy posts. It's quite amazing how big it was at its peak, and how it relinquished that traffic. With an overly priced $250 annual hosting bill, and only $50 donated so far this year, I foresee it going offline pretty soon. Quite a shame. I look forward to seeing to your project :) Rumor has it the staff here are looking to for games to feature/sponsor. As an incentive to remain a non-lurker: I've got some nice plans for a project section on the site and the plan is to have build-in team management features. So it has two functions: a public page (or series of pages, like a mini-site) to promote your game, and then a behind the scenes control panel for you and your team members. There's team management websites out there, but their scope is large and not specifically designed for game development, and what better place to have a team management application than within a game development website? Anyways, welcome to GDU :)

I gotta type this quick because i have class in 5 minutes What if... In topics that require member contribution in the form of say support, resources, etc etc. then in that topic ONLY the topic author can use the "Rep" system,. which will in fact be used by the author to say "thanks" but in return the helping member gets +1 rep, like usual, but they also get a certain amount of points for it. Therefore, this removes arbitrary and random reps given to members who merely "like" a post rather than it helping them (or at least removing that possibility), and also rewards members via points. Of course, the main incentive is the points system which doesn't currently exist. Lets assume here that points can be used to to purchase stuff (ad space on the site, subscriptions, ect) and that they're actually valuable and worth pursuing. I want the site to a have a reputation of getting requests fulfilled.

I once created a game based on a song :P Or at least I started it. I always found music is a good way to get you in the mood for things, depending on the music. Also back in my RMXP days, I would see the tiles used in such a manner I would never think of, so just by looking it those maps it was like gaining a new skill, so I would go and test that out in RMXP to improve my maps.
