  1. Something crossed my mind today, what are the small things in games that drag the player into deluging themselves in your world you made for them to explore? So I thought I would put it into a poll and into discussion. I am going to include some of these in my game, but not all of them. I want to make my game one that has a lot of inter-activeness in it with the player, while also being fun at the same time. I will include the Gambling System, the Mini games, the Farming, and the Luxury systems into my game without a doubt, but I want to know what you think of all of them. So post any ideas you have for an activity in game below, and vote up there on what you would like to see most in a RPG. Ardi out.

  3. Omg I spent like an hour on my game page trying to get a logo for my game... no comment... No comment.... I wasted an hour of my life ._.
  4. Well, better be a first. In general, it would be a 9/10, and I'd give the same with a mouse. I give it a 9 because I really like the collage of colours used to make it. It really looks like a piece of art with a kind of nature look to it. It blends in so well, it could really work in any game in general, especially one based on it's art style. I also like the cursors used with that skin, it looks really well done, and has that golden look which is really hard to pull off when using computers. One thing that could be done better is the frame used on the skin, the border could maybe have a bit more detail than being just a line border. But even so, it is really well done, I don't think that many other skins are as great as this. It would be nice to see more work like this.

OMG funny story! I was playing as Smough as usual, when I found a guy named Ornstein! It was so flippin hilarious XD We ended up both teaming up against the server, and it went for 45 minutes. I was number 1, and he was number 2 (due to size issues). Then people started calling themselves characters from dark souls! There was Sif, Atorias, Quelaag, Gwyn, Nito, and a bunch more! It was so funny! Then we all ended up dying horribly to Russia kicking our 4$$3$... But since it's dark souls, we respawn again at the cost of losing our souls... aka blob mass. :laugh2:

This gaming lassio is getting addicted to this really addictive yet fun game! A lot of people have already heard about it, but I can't stress how fun it is to go around with the name Smough (Dark Souls Reference) and killing everybody. Check it out, and post your funny name for the game below, or share a story! http://agar.io/
  8. Smh, this gaust is resurrecting an old topic again. For non-valuable GDU points. 10. Attack on Titan (Very interesting concepts, very dramatic, and 100% pure badass grade awesome, not higher due to sad feelz) 9. Inyuasha (Very few people don't like Inyuasha, I don't put it higher due to repetitive goals in the series) 8. Fairy Tail (It has good comedy, great action, but it takes so long for someone to go down in this series, that it drags across 3 episodes like...) 7. Spice and Wolf (Rather Relaxing, it's just normal feel for it) 6. Lucky Star (Meant for comedy purposes, and reminds me of my life right now) 5. Astro Boy (LET'S ROCKET!!! Omg such awesome) 4. Ouran High School Host Club (Had a great plot, great characters, great atmosphere, and that ending...) 3. Fruits Basket (I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry!!! I had to put it at three for being awesome all the way through) 2. Sword Art Online (I'm a video game fan, it's only natural) 1. Kaichou Wa Maid Sama (This is a piece of art, with the way it goes around telling the story while making everything funny and romantic) Ardaceus = Small Otaku, due to me not knowing many animes, I have tried to like others like Bleach and Naruto, but I just don't like them. Well there are some others I like, but these are the best in my opinion, and nobody else will agree with me. Ardi out.
  9. I luv it! That was a pretty good rant there. It's true what you said, even before I got VX Ace I've seen people miserably fail at projects due to not know what the duck they are doing. I think that knowing your team and your game before you start is better than any other aspect of a video game, for if you know what you are doing, you are likely going to succeed. Though for me, I already know everything about how my game works and develops, I've planned this story for a year. It's just that any one I try to help me with my game fails me, so I do it alone, but ask for faces for my characters, which I can't manage. My beliefs mostly is that if your completely confident in making your game, you have your story planned out, you know how to develop the maps, and you are familiar with your production system, you can succeed at any project. Ardi out.
  10. Woah, so much cool, I resurrected a dead user! My power is unmatchable! I don't think there is any problem going off topic, it's literally like a real cafe in here. Who knows where your words will take you. Btw, awful owner? You're haounting dis plece? U spook neow gie? Da fuq? Vut u meen? Y su mani queshions? Idk due u? Btw I'm a gaust!
  11. Yup, no other reason why I'm here on this website. Except that I have my game on the other hand.
  12. Pluto without a doubt is a planet of our solar system. It follows the three laws, certainly orbits our sun, and shouldn't be considered outside of our system. If Pluto were to leave the solar system, it would screw up with so many different mythologies, ruining a partial bit of this interesting enjoyment. I'm actually not going to be completely serious in this next part. Pluto was always that odd one out of our family, he was like a brother the solar system, just orbiting more outside. He like to hang out with dwarfs, but we were fine with that, he was still our little buddy, and we cared for him. He was always Neptune's favourite sibling, for they were closer than Uranus. But then the father of the solar system disowned Pluto, for he didn't like Pluto hanging out with the dwarfs and for being quite awkwardly tilted in terms of straightness. The father's name was Homo Sapians, and ruined Pluto's life, making him colder than ever. But Mother nature gave the right idea and tried to get Pluto back into the family, but the other planets made it difficult by being straight and round and all that. I don't think Pluto has been orbiting further away from us than now. Well, if father doesn't approve Pluto back into the family, at least he can chill out with Ceres, and Makemake out with Eris... Haumea can come too. Ardi out.
  13. Am I like, the only one on the planet to not start out with something simple for a first game? My project is going to take a long time to build, and I'm just one person working on it. If I get recommendations to start a new game for something small, I'll probably not take it. So is there anyone else that things big for their first time making a game? Ardi out.
  14. Well, no doubt that my favourite game of all time is Okami, it's a brilliant game that needs to be heard of. Speaking of which, I might as well tell 9 other games that aren't heard about enough. They are: Dust an Elysian Tale, Front Mission Evolved, Tales of the Abyss, Time and Eternity, Castle Crashers, Kid Icarus Uprising, Limbo, Final Fantasy 12, and Mirror's Edge. Okami is where you play as the sun goddess and you have to fight against the darkness that has seeped throughout the land of Nippon. Great story, gameplay, and interactiveness with the world outside of battle. Really worth your time. Dust an Elysian Tale is action packed with a bit of a cliche main character, but what it lacks in that character originality it makes up in it's fighting system, land to explore (that dam dead marsh level), and the epic climax of the game and the plot twist near the end. It's not that long and if you have some spare time, you can get it on the xbox store. Front Mission Evolved is by Square Enix, as you know truly so. It's a game about a war between the different nations of the world with a twist. It's like a Call of Duty game, except you are almost always fighting in your custom super battle armour, the plot actually is pretty good, great boss battles, it's like a Michael Bay film trailer and keeps up to expectations, great graphics compared to when it came out... I could go on, just the ending was kinda lame... Tales of the Abyss, and Time and Eternity, it's what you get when you combine JRPG with Anime. Both are fun to play through, both have good comedy, great character developments, I haven't beat Time and Eternity nor do I know much about its villain, but TotA has a great villain and rival of the main character. They are worth your time, and at least should be checked out. Castle Crashers is fun, and makes some sense at times, but really is just random for comedy. It's always throwing stuff at you which you'll never expect, but end up loving and laughing over. Plus the music is astounding! Search Simple Sights by RealFaction for an example. Kid Icarus Uprising is from Nintendo, I would not have put it on this list if I heard more about this game from communities after the release of Super Smash Bros. Great comedy, outstanding villain, and great graphics (plus a pretty fun multiplayer) Limbo... Dark, puzzling, thrilling, calm, sudden, this game is worth a thousand words though it doesn't use any colours... Final Fantasy 12 was a great game, y nobody talk about it?!? It inspired so many things in A Realm Reborn, had great graphics, an actually realistic villain, a likable battle system, but the most can be made out of its soundtrack. This game has to have the best final boss theme of all the Final Fantasy games just because of how different it is from the regular style of final boss themes, focusing more on the player than the villain. Though this game does fall when it comes to character development, but I ignore that for the game focuses more on development for players the party interacts with. #Gabranthrocks Finally, Mirrors Edge is a complete parkour game with a little bit of FPS moments, the fast paced game is at your control. Even if you slow down, just marveling at the city you play in is amazing, it's beyond words how much time and effort went into making this beautiful game. Nothing bad can be said about this game except that learning the controls is kinda tricky, and the hard parkour parts can be annoying, but once you know what to do, you'll want to be playing this game until you are the perfect parkourist. Well there you go, 10 games that I like. There are many other games I like, but these 10 just strike out as unpopular. Check them out is what I would recommend. Ardi out.
  15. Luigi's Mansion series, Fatal Frame, Misao, Mad Father, H.A.U.N.T., Ju-On: The Grudge, Paranormal, Candles, Corpse Party (Can get sexually graphic), Hotel 626, Imscared, One Late Night, Monstrum, The Ghouls Forest, and Haunt the House. The only ones where you are the one with the power to fight ghosts are Luigi's Mansion, Fatal Frame, and H.A.U.N.T. The rest just incorporate ghosts.
  16. Making a threat look real: I think that to make a threat look real, you need to follow the certain guideline. I agree with you completely, but I would add a few things. When making a game, you should address the threat entirely, or at least make some mention of what the story wants to make the threat. What I mean is have an introduction to the villains at least some point in the story, and state their motives or traits of thought, or have the game mention something that may cause problems or is causing problems from at least a quarter way through the story. I also think when creating villains that there shouldn't be motives that are unbelievable compared to the world you live on is like. Like if you live on a non-fictional world, world destruction is unbelievable, wheres to a world that has ancient destructive beings like the rings of halo are great. Also, if you want to do something crazy, like a character, you could do something like Kefka, who just wants to watch the world under his own interpretation of it. When coming to making the villain, don't take cliches and have the easy way of making thee do things without reason, make something attract thee to thy actions, like greed, wrath, lust, justice, insanity, anger, religion, maybe a combination. Also, you should have a demonstration of the threat's power, like Sin from FFX who destroyed Zanarkind at the beginning of the game. You should build a villain more than the character, but not change him throughout the game. And please, stop the cliche where the villain says "I'll be bache" or "I was perfection!", just stop, they're annoying. If you are, at least make the villain do something dark or fun as he says it, like Ganon from Ocarina of Time. Character Stereotypes: Well, they aren't that bad, like you can make someone have cool clothes, it's like that one person at school that always wears the most abstractive clothes that no one else does, that's my school's male music teacher. But don't overdue it, like your character lives in a poor community but dresses like a dutch. Also, don't make it so that characters join your party because they feel like it, I've never done it in my game I'm making, all join you because someone or something forces them except for three. But don't stray too far away, due to maybe making an unbelievable character. Not much for me to say about it. Female Characters: I don't think that females should be treated like they sometimes are. Make them have their own personality, and make it different between all your female characters. Like one is nerdy, one is tough, one is a rat, and another is the strawberry cake. Don't sexualize the character unless if it is part of their personality, and don't make them all weird hair coloured. The only exception is making them all servant like, I say this due to the fact that maybe it reflects upon the world's state in time. Just like in the 1800s where all women were pretty much slaves only there to serve. Endings?: I do not have an opinion of endings, you can make any ending you like. Personally, I like to give terrible endings to the people that tried to play the game the least, due to the player's personality of not caring for playing the game. I'd like to give a just ending instead of a good ending, where every one gets what they deserve, or to the people that survived. So I do like two variable endings, with a bad ending to people who didn't give care into their actions or fooled around. So those are my opinions, though another thing I would think of is: Should a world always be like every city is its own? Or just have two empires that rule two halves of the world? Ardi out.

  18. Well here's a little story. There once was a Crane, thy grace was stellar, there was also a dog, thy passion was iregullar. Not forgetting the fox, quiet but loving. And they're besides the herd, who were all but nothing. One day came a ghost, Who changed them all most. He'd be there by their side, just there for the ride. Nobody noticed this spectre, they were focused on their nectar. But then there were three, that was there for thee. Thy made them laugh, thy made them feel, all while knowing thy wasn't real. Thy made them mad, thy made them cry, for he can not feel, to which he wave bye. They wish him away to leave him astray But he will be there for thee there's no where. Thy stood by their side even on the new tide The crane, the dog, and the fox, and a ghost in a box. The crane which thee crave thy dog which thy save a fox whom thou care for a ghost to give spare. A fox to leave lone, a dog to leave alone. But the ghost crave the crane for thy dont feel the pain. When the crane chase thy fish, the ghost is left with a wish, "Bring me a wish upon one star grant my dream so I may go far for a soul is what I need, but not which I greed." Sadly, no ghost shall gain his own, so he was standing there alone... To end this tale, there was the crane and the dog, the fox and the herd, but a ghost still sat there, waiting to be heard. Being brave is something I think is shown by question, only if you ask will you ever be brave. Not asking can result in the hurtings of someone, the longer you put out, the more damage will be brought down upon one. The moral of this story is that some of us never have a chances at love, but even so, we won't stop searching for someone to care about you as much as you care about them. One day you'll all find that special someone hopefully, but it may just be a fantasy, so don't be with glee, until you are truly happy, whether you are lonesome or no, by helping those you've changed the world, and that is what is admired the most. Ardi out.

  20. Spoon Spoons are amazing, I use them with a treat, they pick up a lot, and make it quick to eat. Forks may just stab, and that may be rad, but they can't pick up much, which makes them quite bad. Spoons can cut well, as much as a butter knife, can be tricky with meat, but I eat aquatic life. Forks are amazing, but that knife you need alright, Or you'll be cutting your steak, with Polraudio's might. Winning, Ardi out.
  21. Boo! No? Didn't scare you... well anyway, I'm Ardaceus, you can call me Ardi for short. I have been on this forum less than a week, and I'm really enjoying it here. Came across this section, and decided wynaut? I prefer to be called by my online name than anything, and only my online name. I won't ever talk about my life outside of game making on this forum, due to it not being the main goal of this place. I will participate in the Cafe thread though, for it's nice to reply my thoughts to other people. I will most likely be online on this forum in the chat, so I'm there usually, I have been for the past 2 days. Personality wise, I don't compliment or put down anything about myself, I only say what I can and can't do, and what I do and not do. I love video games, RPG's are my favorites, just because I love the stories behind them so much. I generally love anything that has great story or characters, I don't focus much on graphics or gameplay for most games (except Call of Duty). Besides video games, I like reading, drawing cartoons (I can't draw anime), and simply anything to do with computers. If anyone wants help with a game, feel free to ask me, I would be more than happy to help! Though I'm not great at making music, scripting, or creating HD photographs, I'm good at everything else. Also, this only applies to RPG maker VX ace, I don't have any other programs. Another thing I'm good for is coming up with story ideas, if you would ever like some inspiration, I could always come up with a story for your style of writing. I have a lot of stories I want to make, and I have a lot of experience writing stories. I always have ones that I'm willing to give away due to me not taking much interest in expanding off of the main idea. So I guess, Ardi in.
  22. I have so many different games that I want to make someday, but I'm stuck with my current project "Wonder's War" due to the others not really working well with RPG maker. I won't name any of these ideas due to not wanting anyone to steal one of the names, for I want to make all of them into games, and I will accomplish that. Anyway, back to the topic, I do go through a lot of game ideas that just don't interest me in the slightest, so I thought I would give out one of them for anyone to use. I called it "A Man and the Machine". This is the story about a guy living a normal life, except for the fact that his roommate is a robot. The man is going to college to try and get a degree in Electronical Engineering, and the robot also goes to school to try and get a degree in manufacturing. Throughout the story, there is a huge rivalry between the man and the robot, like how smart one is, how physically adept one is over the other, and they both throughout the whole story fight each other for a girl who is also going to the same school. Filled with comedy and drama, the story is based around the concept of how men are having a struggle with everyday tasks thanks to technology getting in the way, and how it pushes us to be the best we can be. The game play shouldn't have a battle system in it, but more of a choice system, like a simulator game. It should focus more on the player's logic and thinking skills on how they should go around and interact with the world, while adding in different reactions from the player's choices. It was a scrapped idea mostly because this style of game is not my style. Feel free to do anything you want with it, Ardi Out.
  23. I prefer classical music, dubstep, techno, orchestrated rock, rock, and video game music the most, I'm not a fan of pop. I have a dislike towards pop culture or just generally most songs with lyrics that sound like they whine and complain or not match the flow of the music as it could possibly be best at. Ranking of my top songs however, I would have to do a top 24 because it's my lucky number. I will not put VGM on this list or else it would be full of that, and no remixes or else I would have a lot of that too. 24~Skylight by Sam Padrul (I can't stop listening to it, sounds so groovy!) 23~Firefrost by EnV (I love the techno music, I love EnV and Waterflame the best) 22~Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites by Skrillex (I don't have a comment here) 21~Awoken by Woodentoaster (I'm not a fan of ponies) 20~I am the Enemy by All Good Things (If I ever get in a fight with someone, this is my theme) 19~Ghosts n Stuff by Deadmau5 (Iz great) 18~Nightmare by Avenged Sevenfold (A bit darker, but me likey) 17~Feel Good Inc by Gorrilaz (Very well put together, great music video, and nice voice) 16~Bring Me To Life by Evanescence (This was the first song I ever listened to, no joke) 15~Monster by Dev (Don't judge, I just love the instruments) 14~What Have You Done by Within Temptation (Pretty Epic) 13~Move Along by All American Rejects (Who hasn't heard this?) 12~Thanks for the Memories by Fall Out Boy (The most different one on this list, I like only a few of their songs) 11~Diary of Jane by Breaking Benjamin (I love this band) 10~Warriors by Imagine Dragons (Who doesn't like them? Probably a few people) 9~Boulevard of Broken Dreams by Green Day (This band is full of American Idiots) 8~Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven (I can play the first part on piano :D) 7~Over The Hills and Far Away by Nightwish (Lots of good stuff) 6~Honeybee by Steam Powered Giraffe (Steampunk For Life! I'll rust with you for fancy shoes and brass goggles on Saturday night because Captain Albert Alexander turn backed the clock... references...) 5~Roads Untraveled by Linkin Park (Faint and Lost in the Echo are also pretty great) 4~Last to Know by Three Days Grace (Close call with The Good Life, Animal I Have Become, and Never Too Late) 3~Ghost by Mystery Skulls (Everybody hasn't heard of this guy, he's bloody amazing) 2~Daybreak by Overwerk (All his works are amazing, but Daybreak blew my mind the first time I heard it) 1~Instant Crush by Daft Punk (I <3 Daft Punk) Ardi out.
  24. Being in Canada has some great benefits like how being homosexual is legal now. So it's not really something I think about, due to it being dealt with. I find it very cruel however when anybody is judged based on their feelings to others or to their religion. What I think these motha f*****s should do is shut the hell up, go home, and never interact with these people again if you hate them so much. It's a choice for someone to be dissing another person, and it's none of their business to judge or get involved with someone else's personal life. It should be legal for all homosexuals to be allowed to marry and love each other, due to the fact that it's what that person wants, and it's what makes them happy. Like it's said: "We are all born equal, but society makes us different." I find it very odd however of the concept of marriage, like what is the point of getting married? You're with that special someone, you've been living in the same house for 4 years, and look happy together, does marriage do anything (Besides the benefits, but that wasn't until recently)? You can have a child while not married, you can go on vacations while married or not (aka honeymoon), you can get divorced while not married (It's called a break up, and it's far easier than a divorce), you can still cheat while in a relationship or marriage, there is no difference. You can just marry one day and be where you were 4 days ago. Sigh, one can only hope the world will change somehow. Ardi out.
