  1. Well, here are my thoughts: This topic is starting to piss me off. I agree with Isaac, this has gone far enough. I hardly see how this began in the first place. So why cant we just burry the hatchet and shut this topic down? I don't see its point except for hurting members of the forum. And I believe that is against the rules, is it not; Flaming. I've seen no positive criticism, only flaming. Oh, and look at this: So, isnt the whole point of this topic against the rules? Correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway, those are my thoughts. I hope this matter ends reletively fast or we'll see first hand the consequences of our actions (I'm beginning to see them already, their not good :( )
  2. Frankly, I love the gloomy map with Mai in it, it looks really nice (in a gloomy way :biggrin_002: ). I love the HUD, too; it looks amazing. I'll be looking forward to playing this game.

  5. Kiriashi does have a good point. Kiriashi is always helping people and helping the forum. And some points are made public such as "Dont double post unnecessarily" so that, one, you wont have to send a million PMs every time you log on and, two, so other people read them. That's what RULES are about. I remember on the PokePlushies forum there was a subforum called "READ RULES FIRST BEFORE POSTING" and there about 10 topics containing rules. We obviously dont have one of those but the rules should be reletively obvious but, as proven, not to everyone.

  8. Good point, there. I write most things from the point of the slow zombies because, as I've said, I highly doubt really fast running zombies. And, yes, I've played Half-Life 2. The first time I saw the jumping ones I was like "The hell is that?" MASSIVE SCREAM -exit command- . Depends on what weapon your using. A rifle would be not suggested, same with a pistol. Preferably a shotgun or a long melee weapon like a spear or metal baseball bat.
  9. Well, if I were in a forest, I'd find a large and tall tree near the center, then cut down surrounding trees. If I had the supplies (nails and rope, mainly) I'd make a treehouse on the big-ass tree and camp it off there and raid the city for supplies and move on when there is too little supplies to gain. They're only mainly scary at night. During the day they are pretty well luminated. Also, slow and stupidzombies would have quite a hard time navigating the forest so it might be rather easy to outwit them and go around them. And, then again, if you make a noise and it sees you then its easy to outwalk it. ESPECIALLY when you can maneuvior quite well in a forest. I don't much like cities. My aim is probally just to keep moving, only enter cities when I really have to. Their dark mainly at night. If you got a really dense forest then certain areas might be in darkness 24/7 (dependant on the possition of the sun) but then you could just go around that area. It wouldn't be too lonely if you had a partner or a small group. It's not advised taking a large group into a forest. But the trees making you paranoid is a good point. But a good thing to remember is that zombies that roam forests will be making a hell of a racket - stepping on sticks and running into low-flying branches. You could probally hear them before you can see them. Probally the forest, since cities are gonna have shit flying everywhere; including cars (probally). My ideal campout spot would be a large hill that used to be a forest. Cut down all the trees but the main one, as I said before. Build a treehouse. Have a fenced off area to grow fruit and veg and a river at the bottom of the hill (I'd have a hand-pump water filter). So, there's your answers. If you got any more questions then feel free to ask. I'll be writing the Survivors chapter now, so keep tuned.
  10. Not necessarily. Its probally best to arm yourself with a close-range weapon, then, like, a machete or, in your case, axe. It provides cover for you but also the infected. As long as you keep as quiet as possible and keep a VERY good eye out of your surroundings you should be able to make it out alive.

  12. Well, I thought it was time I brought this topic back, but didn't want to have to do a heap of updating. There was a heap of things that just lied around unorganised and out of place. The main inspiration for updating was a few new weapons on Zombietools.net. They hadn't posted in ages and whilst reading Skulduggery Pleasant, they meantioned quite a bit about blades so I thought to check Zombietools.net. Boy, was I surprised. A new beautiful blade, a throwing spike and axe, and rumors of 2 new blades on the way. My dream is to have all the ZombieTools blades one day. Anyway, writing about zombies helped me work on my games and now that this writing has stopped, I think, I starting loosing inspiration in my games. So, hopefully, by restarting this I'll also get my inspiration for my games back. I hope you guys like the new and improved version of my Zombie Survival Guide. Please comment if you do. In this chapter I'll cover what will probally be the zombie you will be facing in a zombie infection. Most likely the slow and stupid ones, but I'll still cover the fast ones just in case. Also, I might add some homework at the end of each chapter for those who would like to follow it up and comment with their homework attached. Slow and Stupid: As I mentioned previously, these will most likely be the zombies you have to face. Full motor control of a subject is near-to-impossible, minus the case of rabies. Rabies sends you insane and paranoid to the state where you'll attack anything that moves. Anyway, the virus will most likely be bacterial-based, since zombies spread the infection through either; a) A bite (bacteria through the teeth) b) Scratch marks that can penetrate the skin (bacteria under the fingernails) c) Infected blood that get into any open wounds or into the eye, mouth, possibly nose or ear Most important thing to remember is that their slow and stupid. They shamble around, meaning you could easily outrun one, probally even outwalk one. Although this might sound simple, it's not. Don't let them mass around you in a corner, otherwise you are pretty screwed. Strength in numbers. This applies for you and them. Killing these zombies is rather simple. We're talking serious here, so of course a zombie would need its lungs, heart and, most importantly, brain. So, either a bullet to any of these would result in nearly-instant death. Minus the lungs, it would take them possibly a few minutes to die of lack of oxygen. If a team members gets bitten, they might have about 48 hours until it gets to their brain. No virus has a rediculous incubation time of an hour or so. You would probally want to shoot them in the head straight away; end their pain. It doesn't matter if their a random survivor you just met or your own brother or sister, just do it. Chances of a cure or vaccine are, well, VERY VERY VERY doubtful. It might happen, but don't wait around for one. Everything is going to hell, so why would a perfectly functional hospital (good luck finding one) try making a vaccine or cure? Who would they test it on, for that matter? Especially a vaccine, would you just give your sane life for a chance for immunity? And, then, still, you can be ripped apart and mauled to death. Here is a quick summary: a) Don't get bitten b) Don't keep em around for a cure, even if their your best friend. c) Don't stand around waiting for a cure. d) Shoot to kill, not to contain. e) Strength in numbers (both you and them) Fast and... well, Furious? Well, for one, I would HATE for this to happen. For you who have seen 28 Days/Week later, imagine the Rage Virus. If not, let me quickly explain it to you. They are semi-inteligent, can run really fast and we'd be screwed if this happened. They can attack rather well, too. Pinning you against walls and biting you or just chasing you across seemingly endless fields (R.I.P. Don off 28 Weeks Later, I thought that would be me until he got infected). These things are quite creepy due to their speed. It would prove hard to outrun one and we'd have to pray the virus infecting them knows and cares about fatigue. Ah well, at least this way they would starve to death faster. Starvation is a big factor; possibly 6 weeks for slow and stupid and 2-3 weeks for these guys. These guys are similar to the slow and stupid ones. Shooting them in the heart or brain would result in instant death. Cutting off a ling would prove very useful, since they would collapse due to lack of blood. Same way of getting infected, too. Unlike 28 Days/Weeks later, however, the virus wont have a 10 second incubation time. Like, really? What the hell? 48-64 hours at least. Well, same rule should apply. And don't make out with newly bitten people, for your own sake. So, here are rules for them that are different from the others: a) Don't scream in fear you'll just attract their attention ... I think that's about it. Homework: What would you do if spriting zombies were a reality? And be serious, none of this "I'd get my shotgun and blow them all to hell and survive forever" stuff... Not even Chuck Norris can do that. All he needs is to round-house kick their head off. So, what would you do? And, btw, you are not Chuck Norris! The majority of your survivor team should be people you know. You can't always trust people you meet along the way; they could kill you and take your stuff. Or, worse, just take all your stuff and leave you alive. A good team is about 4-6, not too many to feed and accomidate and and enough people to evenly share the work load. They should also be armed equily (reletively. Don't give one person a 9mm and then give another person a minigun) to stop the groups fussing. "Why does he have a .358 and I only have a .357". That is a typical example but you can then tell them to shut the hell up and get over it; they'll get over it. You don't want major squabbling ammounst the group or it might tear itself apart. You should also beware of other survivors. They could, as mentioned before, take your stuff. Or, if your lucky, they could join you. Here is a quick list of things to check of survivors you find on your journey before you let them, possibly, journey with you; 1) Check for bites (incase they may turn) 2( Check for odd behavior or nerviousness (they may just be nervious coz they think you might take their stuff, but if they approach you then it is good to check for this in case it might be a clue to them turning their weapons on you and demanding your supplies). 3) NEVER speak of a safe house you may have or a safe zone in case you lead them there and then take it over. If they bring up the topic, deny it. If they are 100% genuine survivors and only want to help you and enjoy others company then you can take them to a safe house (if you have one). Hopefully human nature will allow us to group together then attack eachover. Choosing your team is also rather important. You want to make sure they have any of the following: a) Scouts/Guides/Bushmaster Training b) Army/Military Training c) Experience with guns/melee weapons/hand-to-hand combat d) Skills that may be useful - sewing, first aid, mechanics, etc. e) Able to act fast in any situatin f) Leadership quality (this may be needed in any situation) g) If they are female (not trying to be sexist or anything) Most people with have one or more of these. If not, you may still take them if you believe they can learn and not break down under the pressure. More aspects of this will be covered in chapters such as; "Weapons: Blades", "Weapons: Blunts", "Weapons: Firearms", "Zombieland Chores" and a few others. Homework: On this forum, pick 4-6 people, not including yourself, you would take with you in a zombie apocolypse (you can pick me if you want), why you would pick them and what you would arm them with (without prior knoledge to other chapters excluding the 1st chapter). There are a few guidelines to this, also: 1) Each person must be armed with either: 1)a) A Main Firearm (Rifle, Shotgun, etc), a Sidearm (Pistol) and Melee (Blade or Blunt) 1)b) A Main Firearm and 2 Sidearms (Dual Pistols) 1)c) A Main Firearm and 2 Melees (Probally Dual Machetes. You can't have large blades or blunts like katanas and such) 2) The weapons must be something you could actually get your hands on. You cant say "M16A1" or "AA12" and stuff. You must state things that you can actually get on the public market (and for a special bonus you can say Deagles because you can get them legally in Australia) 3) Don't spam the powerful weapons, like, don't give everyone a Deagle as a sidearm. Here are a few tips: 1) Have a rather wide selection of sidearms (9mm, .22, .32, .357, .358, .40. 45, .50) so, theoretically, if you find some ammo there is more chance of finding some that will match your sidearm. If you, for exmaple, spammed deagles (against the guidelines of this homework), then you'd have to find .50 ammo and not any of the others. This tip can also apply for main firearms. 2) Give people melee weapons of which you believe their ability is. You don't want to give, for example, Aya a big-ass Katana or give Rated-RKOFranklin a Combat Knife. 3) Evenly spread out Shotguns and Rifles. Don't give the whole group shotguns or the whole group rifles. Give shotguns to the more fearless and give rifles to the people who hang around the back and don't like to get right up into a zombies face. Not everything in a Zombie Apocolypse is gather supplies and kill zombies. There are quite a lot of chores than can be done (and dependant on your current position in the world - if you are in a fortress, barricaded at your home or continuesly On the Run around nearby towns), including little things like sort the ammo into groups of piles to big things like run raiding missions to the nearby chemist. First we'll start with At Home. Most of the time your home should be somewhere in a city. If your lucky, it'll be near the outskirts of it. If not, you'll be right splat-bang in the middle of it. There are heaps of jobs that can be done at home. We'll sort them into "Little", "Medium" and "Large" jobs. Little: - Sort ammunition into piles of the same munitions (e.g. one pile of 9mm, one pile of 12 gauge shotgun shells) - Sort food into daily uses (bigger foods for bigger meals. Lunch being the smallest meal) - Sleep (it still counts - you need your energy. Just make sure you have someone on night shift) Medium: - Check the door and window barricades - Pull apart unneeded furniture - Plan a fall-back point (like upstairs if you have a 2 story building) - Move supplies to the fall-back point - Repair barricades - Kill any zombies that manage to enter the house - Design/Set up makeshift zombie traps - Check previously set up traps - Plan jobs for the next day. - Make sure the generator is in working condition - Power the generator (if its bicycle powered, which a good zombie apocolypse generator should be) - Recharge rechargable batteries - Plan what to power/charge with the generator - Do a stock count of what equipment you have (flashlights, radios, flares, guns, etc) Large: - Leave the house and raid nearby stores (Chemists, Gun Stores, Shopping centers. Make sure they're nearby so that, if you have to, you wont have to run too far) - Check on the vehicle (presuming its still outdoors) - Get some petrol for your vehicle (unless its a bicycle, skateboard, etc) - Plan an escape (if necessary; either too many zombies or no more supplies) - Make a break for it (jump on whatever behicle you have and get the f--k out) On the Run: As you can imagine, being On the Run and continiously moving locations will be much different than being barricated at home. Everything is rather dependant on location, how you got there (foot, bicycles, car, etc), if your still using it, and a heap of other variables but I'll still try covering as much as possible. Little: - Do a stock check of everything your carrying on your person (gun, secondary, melee, ammo, backpack, etc) - Arrange equipment and ammo in your backpack (if you dont have a backpack then you should get one) - Sort rassions ammoungst the group - Scout out a good sleeping tree (tall, and a heap of nearby, sturdy branches you could sleep on) - Sleep Medium: - Design/Set up traps - Check already set up traps - Cut down some trees (if necessary. This is also dependant on what kind of tree) - Kill wandering zombies who have found their way to your location - Scout out any trees bearing eatable fruit - Scout around your area for possible areas to advance to and spend the next night at - Plan jobs for the next day - Check the status of the vehicle(s) Large: - Scout out a nearby town - Repair vehicle(s) (if necessary) - Raid town - Build a treehouse (if you found a rather easy town to raid and feel like staying for a significant time) Fortresses: When I say Fortress, I imagine an 8 foot cinderblock/concete wall with barb wire lacing the top and smaller house-type areas in the center, kinda like a castle. A storage house, a Sleeping area, a few larger areas of wall for night shift and an area for growing crops. It would be on top of a hill with a river at the bottom (not a moat). Well, that's my dream fortress. Here is the list: Little: - Sort ammunition into piles of the same munitions - Sort food into daily uses - Water crops - Check crops condition - Sleep Medium: - Check the main gate - Repair main gate (if necessary) - Kill any zombies that manage to enter the fortres (unlikely) - Patrol the fortress - Plan jobs for the next day. - Make sure the generator is in working condition - Power the generator (bicycle powered) - Recharge rechargable batteries - Plan what to power/charge with the generator - Do a stock count of what equipment you have - Plant new seeds - Gather seeds from crops - Harvest crops - Filter salt water (hand pump water filter) Large: - Run down the hill to the river and collect water - Repair buildings (if necessary) - Build new rooms (if necessary and if you have room) That's about it. I probally forgot a few but that should be the majority of them. Now, there is a lot to take in there. Their all dependant on unforseeable variables, but there are a few things that arn't, like main jobs. There are a few jobs that MUST be done each day/night, and they are: -Nightshift - Makes sure no zombies breach the perimiter and to wake the others if there are too many to engage. There should always be 2 per night for paranoia reasons. Would be good to have a rifle user and a shotgun user per night. Each nightshift person shuold get 3/4 of a day (from 6am-2pm or so) of sleep and swap with another group each night so they can get a proper sleep. So you should have about 4 people assigned with nightshift duty. -Stockpiler - A rather easy job. Make a list of what you have and update it whenever it is safe and something has been changed to update. Makes sure nothing goes missing unaccounted for (like someone sneaking in extra butterscotch finger biscuits). You should only need 1 of these, providing they arn't the ones taking the biscuits. -Weapon Maintenance - Repairs, cleans (barrels and gun) and takes care of guns and melee weapons. You dont want something to go horribly wrong in the midst of taking care of a group of zombies. You should only need 1, depending on the size of your group. Pick the person who knows the most about weapons (mainly guns). -Medic/Doctor - Takes care of injuries you may have; from cuts to, well, nearly anything. We don't want any Amatuer Surgions on our hands, though. Medics/Doctors should know First-Aid and it would help to know CPR. You should only need 1 person for this. Homework: Go back to your team you made in Chapter 2 and assign possitions for them. Which 4 would be nightshift, who would be Stockpiler, Weapon Maintenance and Medic/Doctor?   15. There was a sudden voice inside my head... I couldn't make out what it was saying, something about wounds? Wounds from what? "Hey, me," I said, turning around. But the other me was gone. "Great," I said sarcastically. I looked over to the moon and realised it was nearly gone. Shit, was I back in my own time? I looked around, things were still frozen, well, the things that hadn't disappeared. I saw movement in the distance, it was 100 meters, at least, away. I decided to head that way, nothing better to do. I heard the voice in my head again and... it mentioned Oozerot. I remember him... Who was this figure in the distance? Was it me again? No, it wasn't, it was moving too fast. I saw the shadow of the Collossus Zombie, too. But... The zombie itself was... distorted... It must have been from this frozen time thing. I saw that crow following me, too. I decided to take a quick stop. I sat down and just talked to the crow, well, more to myself. The crow couldn't understand me. The crow kept squarking at me and then point its brak in the direction of the Collossus Zombie, in particular, that figure. "What about it?" I asked. It squarked again. "Fine, fine, jeez... Your really annoying, you know?" It looked at me in a rather disgusted mannor and then flew off, just staying in front of me. I shook my head... Who was this figure?

  18. I cursed as I saw the dogs jump at Zane. I went to fire my nailgun when I saw another dog come at me from the corner of my eye. I quickly sidestepped, but the creature was too fast on its feet. It lept from where it landed and then at me. I couldnt dodge it this time. I closed my eyes and covered my face with my arms... ... And waited... Something's not right. Shouldn't there be teeth chewing into me by now. I cautiously opened my eyes and moved my arms. The dog was just there, frozen in mid air. I looked at the others, it seemed as if they were frozen too. I raised an eyebrow and moved around, looking at my feet to make sure I was still moving. I looked into the sky; the clouds weren't moving and a crow sat on a tree to my right. I looked back to Zane and CJ. Dogs were inches away from digging their rotten teeth into CJ. "Bastards" I muttered. I fired my Nail Gun at them, the nails, amazingly, still flew through the air and into their heads, the dogs made little movement when they were shot. I made sure each one was a headshot. I heard a nose - a flutter. I looked around to see what could have made it. Everything was frozen so I found it rather hard to believe it was anything. Probally just a figment of my imagination. I picked up two of the recently shot dogs and moved them away from us. There were still several zombies, too. I would make short... I fell over. "Crap," I cursed, holding my head. I was still a bit dizzy. I got back to my feet again and dealed with the nearby zombies. I turned back to CJ and Zane but... They were gone, and so were their weapons. I heard the flutter again and I looked around. I quickly realised that the crow that sat on the branch wasnt there anymore. "Hello?" I asked. I heard it again. "Where the hell am I?" The crow landed on the roof of a nearby building and squarked, mockingly. I shot with my nailgun, the nail moving right through the crow but it still stood. I strained my eyes to see that there was no wound on the crow. "What the hell?" I said. The crow mocked me again and flew in a circle around me before landing back on its tree. "What's going on!?" I yelled at it. I thought I heard something behind me, I turned but there was nothing. I turned around to see a face right up in front of me. It was a human face, thankfully. It's eyes were blue and had black hair kept in a hood around its head. He wore a black hoodie and long, dark blue jeans. There were several linings of red thread keeping ripped areas contained. He wore fingerless gloves and on one of his ringers was on odd, blue ring. I jumped back, aiming my nail gun at his head. "But that weapon away, boy" he said. "Who are you?" I asked. He laughed, shaking his head. "You don't recognise me?" he asked. I inspected him carefully but couldn't match him to anyone I knew. "Not really..." He raised an eyebrow. "Really?" he asked. I took another look. "Nope, I'm afraid I don't," I said. He laughed, "I'm you," I took another step back. "Seriously?" I asked. "As serious as a heart attack." [i'm gonna leave it there.   24. Ok, well, update. Finished all the weapons and zombies. Completed some other things, fixed glitches. I'll upload tomorrow what Im going to hand in :biggrin_002: It's only missing the starting weapon selection screen and character selection screen so, you know, not much. Night guys.
  25. Well, sadly enough, there won't be room for a story line :( . Since its a school assignment that isn't really that hard to get an A compared to the other peeps work, 1 - there is no point, and 2 - not enough time. It's due in tomorrow. I started AGES ago and would have made a topic but didn't have sufficiant things ready and was too busy. You can imagine Robe as a male or female, take your pick. It would be very ironic to see Robe as a female with a Big Brother voice :biggrin_002: .
