  1. About 2 weeks ago I was hit with a quick dose of Writer's Block. It wasn't as bad as before, I could still think of ideas but it was just much harder. It passed over the next week, but during it's time of being here, I began work on a new project; Apocolyptica. Apocolyptica has little-to-no storyline whatsoever, and your main goal is to escape a huge ammount of areas and rooms. Each area will cost a certain ammount of $ to enter. $ is a rather large new feature. In Hope Afloat, the $ system was barely incorperated and you would not get any from killing a zombie. Hope Afloat's response to this was the missions at Engora. Anyway, in Apocolyptica, you get $ for killing zombies, which you will need to buy more ammo, new weapons, even medical equipment and upgrades that will increase the ammount of ammo your gun can hold in a single clip. Adding experience is a huge new add-on. I modelled the EXP system similar to the Rank system of S.A.S. 2 - Insane Asylum; as you kill zombies, you gain EXP and Rank-up. Each time you rank up in Insane Asylum, you get a bonus, like faster running, or more ammo per clip, etc.. In Apocolyptica, I took that to a whole new level. A new rank gives you new items, sometimes new shops and also gives you a bonus. The Shops is a new addition, too. Unlike in Hope Afloat, where there are certain venders that you can shop at, in Apocolyptica you can call the shops from the new menu system I made. There are a total of 6 shops, including the Pistol Shop, Medicine Shop and MK Shop. All shops can be called from the menu and, as you rank up, the Shops menu is automatically updated with that new shop and what you can buy in it. MK is a huge new thing, also. MK is the ability to upgrade the ammount of ammo per clip for your weapon. There are 3 MK's, MK1, MK2 and MK3. MK1 gives you +10% ammunition to your clip, not much, but will give you that extra bullet or two you'll need to survive. MK2 gives you +25%. And MK3 gives you +50%. In an MK shop, if its either 1, 2 or 3, you can buy an MK(1/2/3) Token. Depending on what the MK is, you can combine that with your weapon in your inventory and be given another Token. Don't worry about this new Token, it will disappear and be replaced with your new weapon upon exiting and reentering the menu. If you have ever played Hope Afloat, objects bought at the shop will not automatically go into your inventory, in case your inventory is full (due to the fact that the new menu is programmed to only hold a reasonable ammount of objects; 8). Instead, it is taken to a chest and stored there. In Apocolyptica, that chest is now called "Storage", and accessable in the menu. There are a total of 40 slots to store things. There is also a built-in help system in the menu, with help along the subjects of everything in the menu. You can also view that rank you are and what bonuses you gain. Apocolyptica has a brand new Zombie-spawning system. Once every zombie on the screen has been killed, the zombie bodies will fade away and new zombies will begin spawning. Each area you unlock will bring more and more zombies to the party. The beginning area has, by default, 10 zombies spawn, and the next area brings along another 5. With weapons, I have redone the whole weapon system, and started adding new, never-before seen, weapons to the game. Currently, there are only 3 new weapons added; the Tauros 247 Pro, the Heckler & Kosh USP and the Jericho 941 Standard. These are all pistols and all have the ability to be upgraded to MK1. There are also new items, like the Antidote, which cures poison that zombies may inflict on you. There are, so far, only 2 areas, the starting area and an extra area. With how creating the game is going, everything stated above has already been added. Everything up to Rank 3 has been fully added and tested. I won't release Apocolyptica until it's entirely finished, though. To do list: -Harder zombies at intervals of 5 waves -Add Rank 4 weapons (pistols and shotguns) and make them MK1 compatable. If your wondering why only add Rank 4 weapons, it's due to the fact I'll be adding 5 new weapons and adding weapons is a rather time consuming process. Also, in the next blog entry I do for Apocolyptica, I'll show ya some screenies. See ya soon, guys, Stay safe - no bites. ~Tomo2000.
  2. I hate clothing sizes! One day a Size 16 might be a Size 16 but then the next it'll be a Size 10 or Size 22. It's just so annoying. I find that Target (the shop) is the worst when it comes to this. This just frustrates me to no end. I don't understand what the hell goes on in Target and stores like that around here, because when I went to Sydney last year everything was the right size, a Size 16 was ALWAYS a Size 16, and so on, so forth. There's this high rise in Sydney that's about 80 stories high and its just all shops. On the first floor is a book shop that, not only takes up half the 1st floor, but has an upstairs and downstairs. God, I could have stayed in there for hours, and I did :D . Anyway, my Grandparents in Sydney know the kinda clothes I like to wear and they got good sizes so each year for Christmas they'll ask what size of clothing I am and send me some. P.S. - I hate Target...
  3. Hope Afloat v8 is finally ready. No new weapons, but a Boss Battle available from the new mission "Jenkins Jepardy" available from Grey in Engora. You'll need to be prepared for this battle, a shotgun won't do it, you'll want M4A1's and Magnum's. The M4A1 Carbine is $800 at Military Base 2, and the Magnum is founf in the lab at Engora. Jenkins is now also available, there are 3 different zones of Jenkins; a pitch black city where you will do a fuel-run and collect 3 canisters of fuel, a creepy sewer and a murky swamp. Prepare to fight like you've never fought before; Jenkins features a new infected, the Prowler. Slow, stealthy and can deal a LOT of damage, so be warned. Hope Afloat v8 Download Enjoy, please play and review. The download link is also on the 1st post.
  4. I don't know a way and, I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I don't think there is a way unless you have copied it and saved it elseware before the incident. I don't know what else to say, I guess, except good luck and don't give up.
  5. Yeah, you did, Polraudio. Thanks a heap :D . +Rep.
  6. Well, I'm not sure how to do this. I would have asked Leon but he wasn't on AIM. Anyway, I have a menu that is called from a common event, and want an option in the menu to call another common event. Anyone got any ideas?
  7. Oh, my bad, should have seen that. Lol.
  8. I still can't wait for a demo to be released :biggrin_002: If you need a tester, just ask. Your game just keeps sounding better and better :D . Also, I like the song you added; the sin called crusade. Bad quality aside, I really liked it. And, also: The transparent color isn't set correctly. Just thought I might point that out. Keep up the good work :alright: .
  9. Also, you forgot to state if it was [XP] or [VX]. Please edit the topic and add either of those to the start of the topic name. Thanks :alright: .
  10. My friend made a zombie deck, it was really well build. He had a zombie card (some form of vampire, can't remember the name) and any attack to any of his cards was redeflected, as long as it was face up on the field. And then another 2 cards; one that took 300 points off your 4000 (or 8000, depending on what rules your playing) for every card that went to the grave yard and the other card took 500 for each monster that was summoned. Anyway, it's great to see you back. I take it I'll see you on MSN more often?
  11. Welcome back, Nisage. Thank god your not a zombie :alright: Otherwise I'd have to kill you  . Anyway, hope you enjoy your stay. And, also, how is your frog deck coming along? Found that card you were looking for yet?
  12. I still am. Tatsu is usually not online, however. And Syaoran... I haven't seen him online for quite a while. Maybe we'll need some new characters for us to continue.
  13. Hey, welcome to the forum :alright: . If you need help with anything, just post in the right topic and I'm sure someone will be able to help. With RPG Maker, I prefer XP also. Anyway, enjoy your stay.
  14. See ya, good luck on your tests :alright: .
  15. I may as well post some screenies, it's been a long time since I posted any. I'll show you some screenies from the newest town in Hope Afloat; Jenkins :alright: . Jenkins will be released very soon, maybe this afternoon, just gotta fix a few glitches. If you'd like to see the topic, the bar is in my sig. The download link may not be working, however, so I will fix it with the latest release. Well, without further ado; Jenkins The Story Behind Jenkins: Jenkins was a city that was bombed by a experimental zombie-killing agent, which utilised the zombie virus to kill it's own creations... But, this time, it didn't work. The vapor cloud containing the virus that was meant to kill the infected did the opposite; infected every last person in the city. Your car doesn't have much fuel left, so Jenkins is like a fuel-run-gone wrong; not only do you have to get 3 canisters of fuel, but its nearly pitch black. Screenshot 1: It's pretty dark, yeah? Not only is it dark, it's storming. This storm, though, is the only thing that might actually save you. You see, storm = lightning, and lightning - ning = light. Screenshot 2: See? Now, you can see where the hell you are and where the infected are, too. If you've played up until now, you will already know the existence of infected QL3 Soldiers and Infected hazmat suit soldiers, but the one in the black hood, covered in blood? That is one out of two new infected you will see in Jenkins. This one is called the Prowler. Slow, but deadly. Don't let em hit you, or your health will suffer dearly. After the streets, and when you get all the fuel, you can start your trip back to your car. To get to your car, you need to pass through a sewer system and a swamp. I won't show you any screenshots of the sewer, because I don't want to spoil the 2nd new infected, but I will show you a screenshot of the swamp. Screenshot 3: Credit goes to Rusttey for making this for me. Can you believe this is, what, his 13th, maybe 14th map? He's a natural born mapper :alright: . Anyway, this is the swamp. You can see your car from here, too. You got the fuel so just pass through the infected, grab some ammo along the way and get out of this hell hole. I had a lot of fun making Jenkins, as I got to implement some things I've never done before, such as the lightning system for the streets and the new feature in the sewers. Everything for Jenkins is complete, I'm just going to get Polraudio to test it for me this afternoon and I'll be able to release it. Enjoy.
  16. Chapter 14 is now out. Been a while since I wrote any chapters, been eating away at me to type more :biggrin_002: so I did. Enjoy. Hopefully will write the next one soon, when I take a break from my projects and school (got 2 assignments already and its only the 4th day back. Can you believe that? We come back from holidays and 'ok, your assignments this and this and they require completion by thursday next week. I was like  ... Anyway)... Enjoy :sweatdrop: .
  17. Oh, sorry I didn't see this earlier -facepalm-. I'll reupload it now. That's what I hate about 2shared, its always 100% but gotta reupdate the links every now-and-again.
  18. Wow, I love it. Usually I absolutely hate rap or hip-hop (minus olskool hip-hop with no lyrics), but this is just really awesome. I like the bridge part best, not sure why. You have some real talent there. I find it quite easy to write a song on the piano once I find a good backbone to it (even just 8 notes that fit together is a good backbone) but I can't write lyrics for hell, find it near impossible. Again; love the song. If you make another, I'll be glad to listen to it :alright: .
  19. I love the new theme  It's awesome. SO worth the wait!!
  20. Damn, looks like I'll have to wait till morning to see it. Ah well, it's worth the wait :alright: .
  21. Lost interest? NEVAR  Just been busy with a lot of projects that I'll be able to make a release on soon. Just a few touch-ups with the next town for Hope Afloat and the next room for Alone and they can make a release, just to name 2 of em. I've also been addicted to the Trauma Center Series lately, bought 3/4 of em and already won them multiple times. I got Under the Knife and Under the Knife 2 for DS and New Blood for Wii. The newest one is coming out May 16th and it looks awesome  . Kiriashi is jelous of my mad surgery skills on Trauma Center :D Took me 26 hour to complete all 3 games and it took him 20 to complete the first one :D . Also have been writing a song on the piano for music class next term. Also gotta start getting my grades up, especially concerning maths. Anyway, hopefully some of my other titles might be able to make a release soon, such as AZW or EtN. I'd still like to apply for the Game Development Moderator position.
  22. I wouldn't mind being a Game Development Moderator. I don't post as much as I used to but find myself here at least 10 times a day :biggrin_002: . Might make me post a bit more; nearly at 800.
  23. This is a public service announcement; superdeer, Cjboy, Azure Flames, HereYetGone, TheSchneid, Chromatic, Dai, Aqua Dream and (possible) Derseren are all now classified as M.I.A.. If anyone sees these users please direct them to RMXPU-HQ. Authorized by the RMXP-Council, Enterbrain. Jk.

  24. Did you sprite your avatar? If so, from scratch or from an already-existing character and just added things to it and recoloured certain areas?
  25. If you care about spoilers, time to leave this topic. Like, right now. Okay, consider yourselves warned. Valve has had a knack for wordplay and double meanings when it comes to the titles of the Left 4 Dead campaigns, and it turns out that The Passing is no exception. While on the surface the name would seem to refer to the chance passing encounter between the Left 4 Dead Survivors and the Left 4 Dead 2 cast - and it does - it also carries a far more sobering connotation: Someone ain't making it through alive. The tagline for The Passing is "No One Survives Forever," and as L4D writer Chet Faliszek told GameTrailers, by the time the Left 4 Dead 2 zombie-crunchers run into the group from the first game, that quartet will be down to three. Interestingly enough, the death will play out in two ways. There will be a section in the upcoming L4D1 DLC (bridging the gap to explain how the cast got down South to meet with the other four for The Passing) where one of the players must sacrifice themselves in order to proceed. We're not talking about the sort of moment where you stay behind to cover your injured teammate as they hobble towards the boat on Hard Rain and get clobbered by a Tank, either - this is a 100% required death. However, the players will be able to decide who dies and who lives as far as the playthrough is concerned. There will be a canon version of the death, however, as illustrated in a comic book - this is the "idealized version of how it works out," according to Faliszek. Now, the only question is: Which of the foursome will be making their last stand? Is it the old veteran Bill, weary of life and ready to give the younger generation a chance? Is it Louis - thanks to the long and proud tradition where the black guy always dies? Is it Francis, who admits to the other three, "Y'know, I don't hate you guys" before riding off in a blaze of glory? Or is it Z--okay, let's be honest here. It's not going to be Zoey, and we all know it. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Let's hope Valve gives them a true Dying Moment of Awesome.
