You haven't made a game before? There are a couple of things you need to consider before going on with this. To have all original graphics is a very big task, and infact some projects are stopped altogether because its just too hard and takes too long to make the graphics. So far I have only seen two projects with all original graphics made in RMXP, and both had their own forums/sites and large teams. If you cannot create sprites and want a game with all original graphics, its a big thing to ask, even for a team. So I would recommend using RTP or custom graphics, which you can find in our gallery. That doesnt mean you have to stop your game just because you are unable to get all original graphics. You can just substitute RTP graphics until you have the sprites you want for the game. So this should not hold you back in any way. Your storyline seems very modern. You will notice that the tilesets in RTP are sort of medievil, and you cannot really create a game that is set in new york with the RTP you have. Of course there are resources out there you can use for this, its just so much more difficult. Have you played many demo RMXP games? You will probably notice many of them are set in medievil or fantasy timeframes. Have you looked in the Database? See how there are swords and shields and potions etc. That shows what the RTP is suited for. Im not saying you cant make a modern game like you want to, again, its just a bit harder to do. especially for your first game. Your storyline is a bit short, and its hard to get a team with little to show, unless you have friends from other forums, or other people who know how to use RMXP. Ok, I have set up a poll which will decide whether we should keep the Shoutbox or not. Personally, I keep the Shoutbox minimized unless I want to tell the members an announcement or something. The forums are not very active, and we cant get too much worse. I know thats a bad thing to say about the forum, but the aim of the shoutbox, at this point, is to actually help with activity. It gives members a way to communicate with each other. As the forum gets more active of course, this will not matter. You have a point when you say with a shoutbox, why post? But what im thinking is, can you really get all the RMXP help you need from a shoutbox? This time round I want an active RMXP forum. I dont care if every other forum dies, as long as the RMXP ones are active, and we are helping members, and they creating things. In any case, we will see what the rest of the community wants with the poll, which will decide whether to keep it or not. For those who reading the shouts and the look of it, it can be minimized.

The forum has actually been up for half a month, but we lost all our traffic and search engine ranks so no one has been able to get here. Although I have sent out a bulk email. You still have Academy Teacher permission settings, and it would be great if you could start lessons again. Also, I added an Event Systems Category in the Downloads Manger. So you can upload your eventing systems there.

Welcome back Zainox. The forum is back, but not yet the activness. That will take a while. But we are doing our best.

Yeah thats a good point, but I think for those who really hate the graphics, they can just import the RMXP RTP. And you could use scripts to make it so you can import the Charactersets normally. I think they've gone back to the old version charactersets and made it so you can you have more than one character set per graphic. I think with this new version, there will be a lot more completed games. And that is partly to do with the graphics. This version seems so much easier to create things, so I think we will see larger games from members.

Okay, its about time something about the new RPG Maker was posted here. Thats not long away. From the sample video, it looks like a demo will be available from download.com, as with the RMXP. Is is just me, or this a new RPG Maker released for every version of Windows? 2000, XP, VX, sounds like it to me. I hope VX will run on Windows XP. All screenshots and videos are running it on Vista. Lets discuss this new RPG Maker. Personally, I think this will be the best yet. Seems obvious being the newer version, but there is a lot criticism over the graphics. I have been monitoring the features and updates, and it really is impressive. And RGSS 2? I got no idea what that is, but i know Leon's going to love it. You will see a lot of changes for VX around here in the future. I plan to add VX forums, download categories, and gallery categories. We are going to be an RMXP/VX forum. Also, we may discuss this. Any objections, or this what everyone wants?

I added an "Event Systems" category in the downloads manger today, if you would like to upload this or any event systems you would like to submit. You should read this topic: http://www.rmxpunlimited.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=973 The person who hosted RMXP Unlimited gave up on the forum, and decided not to host it anymore. I helped restore it previously, so i had a copy of the Database. SCMike could not restore the forum himself(The current admin) without a host, and had/has practically not time. So I offered to restore RMXP Unlimited on our old host, and come back as an Administrator. So, no other members are able to find this forum because of the url change. All our traffic and search ranks are completely gone. So, I am doing my best to restore the forum, and get it active again. If you would like to help, you could place the userbars in my signature in yours on other forums. That would be a great help.
