Good idea isaascol, it will stop a few members complaining, although we haven't had them before. Allen hunter, it's really inappropriate to post personal messages I sent you. And I have always acted from the beginning with the best intentions and fairness on the forum. I will always stand by the fact that not every single little rule can be written down, and common sense applies. Other forums may allow it, but I think they are not in the majority. Not that I should tell you, Kiriashi and I had a long conversation about swearing in posts.

Everything else I have to say is debatable. I'll draft rules relating to double-posting and edit the rules so this is clear.

No, actually knuckles you're wrong. Just because it is not written doesn't mean it's not against the rules. This is how we do things here at RMXP Unlimited. Double-posting is a rule generally accepted amongst most forums, and therefore it is unwritten. Think of the rules as a system of law. There are laws written in statutes and then there is the common law, the ancient unwritten law. I would like to note though that Kiriashi's extreme contribution to this forum should not factor in this discussion. The rules are the rules, and everyone must abide by them. Not that the original complaint of this topic was the wrong. As for public warnings after the original post is deleted, I am for them. I don't see why it is a problem apart from the confusion of other members. I think it's appropriate and widely accepted on other forums. Perhaps we should add the double-posting rule to the written set of rules. Oh, and it should be said we adopted the rules of creationasylum.net. Before this there were no set of written rules. This empathizes the point that there are rules that common amoung every forum that apply here.

Are you doing it for him? What forum software? Most software will come with instructions. In general, the basic procedure is to upload all the files. Next there will be an installer which is run through the browser (ex: forums/install/index.php). Or there will be a configuration file you have to edit. You will need to setup a database and have the username, password and host (usually 'localhost') ready as well. That's pretty much it.

Yeah but since guests can read these topics they get can get picked up by search engines and if this topic happens to come up in a google search, it would have been useless without her post. That's just to say there is a point, it still should be avoided. Also, I'm not sure if the setting is on, but you can make it so original posters get emailed when someone replies to their topics. Necro posts are bad unless they contain useful information. So it can get the user back to the site, and help them too. I think he meant that bird has balls. I love that one, he fits perfectly in the silhouette. I'm sorta impressed by the lack of spam in this topic since it can so eaisly turn out that way in a topic like this, so keep it up.

Yeah, these type of errors are actually logged daily. The day before I tried fixing this the other time, the log was 31mb. That's huge, its just a text file containing errors. These days its around 50kb worth a day.

Haha yeah I only learned because this forum software's default theme uses those CSS styles. On our old skin I used shadows on the forms, looked pretty cool. To be honest I thought you were going to reply saying never use them. Using CSS is so much easier but images are safer. I think the standard is still images because not all browsers can use rounded corners. Though as you can see there are 4 different lines there for different browsers.

They are the same error. Ok, how frequent is it? I experienced it just once since I fixed it. It happens every time there is a database error so I just fixed one file which was causing a lot of the database errors, so there is no one single fix to this.

Yeah I noticed the background as actually an image. You can actually do this with CSS, its pretty simple. Just out of curiosity, why do you need a pregnant template? How many pregnant characters does you story need.. I'm not sure one was ever made. I'm sure a female template could be altered though.

Aren't you going to tell us how to do it? Or does that come after our attempt? Also what program(s) do you recommend for this assignment?

When I said "evolve" I was referring to the forum, not spam itself. As a law student they teach us a lot about the interpretation of words. There is a grey area simply due to the nature of words. Particularly written definitions. Different people interpret different words differently. We'll remove the spam but its not our job to stop members spamming before they spam. By the way, that link you posted above. Scroll down to "New Zealand". You'll see that a guy from the city I live in was responsible for 1/3 of the worlds spam emails. I think he was only a teenager when he did it too. :)
