  1. No. Seriously all I see is a blank page with a bad design.
  2. Lol I needed to be a little bit harsh on you coz you're not really advertising anything. The design of the website is gona be a pretty significant factor. Look at the projects forum and see who's posted recently.
  3. Lol. Pretty funny that you have that opinion and made this topic. I guess you must think a lot of people like DBZ. Which is true. DBZ was childhood, thus it destroys yu gi ohakusho any day son.
  4. It's hideous and there's nothing there?
  5. Hi guys, I duno if you've seen our stats recently. Check out our googleh analytics: That's from 15th Jun - 15th Jul, a total of 22.3k visits, and that's from 14k people. This a copious amount of wasted traffic, I can tell they're pretty bored actually. I really want to find someone who's passionate about community and running a forum like this. I'm too busy to continue as I have been, so I'm looking for a replacement. There's no monetary benefit, unless you're planning on selling VXA for $10. However you get to bask in the glory of success, and enjoy fame, naked behind a computer screen (if that's how you roll). You don't even have to do drugs or make sex tapes. There's nothing to lose :) This is just a notice to that special someone who is going to contact me, and we'll chat about stuff.
  6. You're not going to find too many :P Lizzie_S = Leon, me = Neon. Umm I can't remember any others here. In fact the forum you're talking about was never part of this one. The two existed at the same time. I started RMXP Ultimate coz I was bored, and it took off for a while. It was a fun time though (although I see you registered there at the end of 07, by which time I thought it was relatively inactive). I remember your username but I don't remmber much of your personality. Perhaps because you didn't post much here. You'll fit right in here then :P All our old members have been adopting this policy in terms of the site these days. If you're truly interested in Ace, you'll be moving on. It's great to see old faces drop by though, it was a unique and fun time to be using RPG Maker in those days.
  7. Please make your own topic instead of requesting in a dead one. I'll close this topic, so you gotta make another if you want your request filled.
  8. Lol I know, I watched that episode.
  9. That's nice of them... The moon landing is still fake.
  10. @Cerberos ...I want one of those things you're holding...
  11. If the pro-life extremists would kill themselves instead of doctors, that'd be great.

lol dw bob, I know you don't watch/care about the news

  12. What is the significance of weapons? All I could say is a small divers range, with lots of boom-boom. So not entirely helpful. But in terms of the game, I want to see rape and pillaging given it involves military. Doesn't have to be game play, eg hit "A" key as fast as you can. I'm thinking cutscene.
  13. Welcome to the site  HTML isn't going to be very useful for you in learning RGSS :P Feel free to ask us for help when you get stuck, we're here to help :) Also check the tuts section~
  14. Nah, we got this. The forgiveness thing was a joke to try and lighten things up. I never really thought you were wrong. I think you both have valid points on different levels. To sum up Dolar's post, he is saying that members who want to recruit other people to work on their project should at least have something to show and bring their own skillset to the table. My interpretation of his article is that one cares 1. you've got barely any progress on the project so far; and 2. you can't make games. I don't think what you're talking about applies yet. That comes later on when people have good project or good plan and they know how to use an engine. Do you get what I'm trying to say here?
  15. Again Salty, this is off-topic. The article is talking about project recruitment. I don't really have too much to say about the article. I agree with it. Someone needs to tell the newbies to bugger off until they can actually contribute to their own project. Who and how are they elitists? (Or don't bother mentioning it if we're going off topic again). I thought I'd highlight these 3 things: According to you he is deluded, doesn't care, doesn't use his power, doesn't know more than you and has no idea how the world works. No offense? Srsly though. Dolar is such a nice guy he didn't even give it back to you. That's a quality mod right there. But someone needs to tell you not to be an asshole. It's fine if you got a reason but you don't. At 23 you've got the world figured out, that's great. You must be a real under achiever though, because I can't concentrate with the sound of you blowing your own trumpet for no apparent reason. Bless us with the knowledge you have obtained over all those years, so I can scrutinize it line by line. I forgive you btw.
  16. It' really hard to go past Dolar's entry as the winner. I thought Broken's was great though. The map looked great and the cutscene and battles were smooth and it didn't get boring. Great job on it. It was easily aesthetically the best. Facesets are a must these days, I can't stand a plain textbox with the name at the start. But in the context of this contest it has to be Dolar because the other two are really just cutscenes, Dolar's entry is so much more complex and has actual game play, it looks like a massive effort for a 1 week contest. It's a win by default for me. Salty's entry was interesting, it looked like someone quite inexperienced in RMXP (no offense). The vote is pretty useless. It probably should have been judged rather than by votes. These members are far too lazy, its slightly pathetic. I declare myself the judge and this is my verdict: 1. Dolar, 2. Broken, 3. Salty.
  17. Ah, finally an error with my code (and not the forums code). Can I get the link?
  18. I love the start of every month... I can see how much interest my savings haz earned. I

  19. Groovy-sauce. Send me a PM, or link me to a topic. Basically what I need is lots of information that's game related. I want screenies, a intro/story, features, screenshots, etc. It would also be useful to have the PSD of the title of the screen. I will also take this time to talk about the cat tabs: Obviously we have these on this site too. The role on GDU will be different. For each game that you create, join as a team member or simply "follow", you will automatically get these tabs. They might also have their own notifications, such as when a game or team post some news.
  20. It would save us both a lot of time, I think my reasons are solid and the decision is a no-brainer. I'd be interested in hearing what you have to say.
  21. Hope you got some spare reading time: http://www.gdunlimited.net/forums/topic/9750-rmu-development-to-stop/ Short answer: yes.
  22. Development has began on the publishing end (which is probably the main function of this website). I probably won't be display many screenshots of, at least not until I have our first game (any volunteers?). The fundamental point of the publishing function is to act like the game's own website, thus there will be bunch of customization features as well as pages. Customization/Editing will happen in 2 ways: 1. On-page font-end ajax powered customization. For example, the admin or team member of the game can edit certain elements by clicking on them. This is opposed to going into a settings page to edit such things as the title, and other simple elements. You do it right there on the page and it will save automatically. 2. Admin/backend: with each game you get your own admin/settings section. This will be for non-visual settings. The team management system will be separated from these settings, but this is where you will add your team members in and assign them various permissions for editing the published games pages. There will be 3 options for displaying your game's content: 1. Single page display: everything you have to say and show off is all on a single page 2. Pages: each major section/element of the game has its own page (default) 3. Ajax pages: same as pages, but when you move between pages the content changes on-page (no page reloading).
  23. Of course. Sorry I didn't explain it very well. There will obviously be a games section were members projects are listed. The idea with creating a game on the site is like your blogspot or wordpress; its up to you to advertise. Therefore, anyone can start a game on the site, but not everyone will have their game listed internally. So for example, you could start a game with just an idea and chuck in a storyline. That's fine, but no one is likely to find the URL unless you advertise it. How to actually get a game listed on the site in the games section isn't determined. The focus is providing a great service for everyone to get the app off the ground. But thinking ahead, I would say the limit is a quality cut-off point; every game that meets a certain standard will get listed. And it's likely you are there to get listed, because we want to promote indie game development. There will filters of course, and a lot of games can generate interest without a demo. So, hopefully that answers your question.
  24. Yep. We've been using social media for some time. But yes that's a good idea, to promote our highest quality games. That is the point of the website afterall (promotion). I also want to form partnerships with teams and actually publish games together. Which may entail such things as homepage promotion, a dedicated forum and other internal and possibly external advertising. But we'll see. The goal currently is to provide a web app where anyone can use the system to publish their game and have their own subdomains, but whether or not those games show up around the website depends on the quality of game, obviously.
