Ah thanks, fixed that up. I don't think they'll ever get rid of any of those, they'll used far too much. I can see a competitor to translate coming alone. Certainly not the maps... who else can afford to images of all the streets in the world O.o and them compile all that data, blur out stuff, etc. It's pretty amazing really.

(...so, this is the music topic?) That wasn't bad! Pretty good for a first attempt. I know absolutely nothing about music, but I have ears so.. I fully expected it to break out in dubstep at the start.

Welcome to RMU  By "published" do you mean you're gona post it soon?

It was announced recently that Google is to discontinue Google Reader. It's good company however. Here's a list of Google's discontinued products and the number of flowers people have left: http://www.slate.com/articles/technology/map_of_the_week/2013/03/google_reader_joins_graveyard_of_dead_google_products.html Which product will/do you miss that google has shut down? Here's what Google web master dude matt cutts said regarding these shutdowns I'm particularly gona miss my iGoogle. Cool right? Though when iGoogle shutsdown I can always just replicate it.

Lol that quote has been quoted a lot. The original reason I said that all those years ago was because I was very busy doing a whole bunch of things for the site (back when it was more obvious and I didn't have so many obligations as I do now :P ) and it wouldn't be fair to nominate me because I'm in the unique position of being able to do a whole lot more. I want to nominate both Dolarmak and Bigace for activity and contribution: for helping i the support forums and for assisting in the creation of the scripts archive.

Yes in the Arty side. The forum does cover all such work, not just certain definitions of "art". We did have a music forum once upon a time but it was compressed into the one forum.
-
Haha I thought some might :P Maybe it was a bit unfair with the topic being dead for a few years, but can't make it too easy :D
-
Yeah I suppose so :P I thought this one was a lot easier. Enjoy your 1 month subscription

Hey Emms, you should mark the post that most helpful using the toolbar on the bottom-right of each post. It's a new feature

Something really weird is going on with the IPB editor. The bbcode options suddenly disappeared and I managed to get them back... but there's no reason that should have happened. I may have been wrong. I got a similar error when I manually used the img tag. Using the editors bbcode for the images does work however. Can you confirm that? IPB have got this obsession with creating a live editor.. the bbcode renders immediately. I hate it. Can't change it back :(

Hey guys, Welcome to the eye of the storm - possibly one of the lowest points in the site's history, which will be hitting 7 years this year. This topic is about my future plans for this site. Hopefully you guys haven't lost faith in it :) The original concepts that I made for GDU are well on track. The systems I had envisioned have not died or become impossible because of the move to change GDU to RMU. Remember, this was a mere rebranding for our new visitors and promote what we are mainly about. The GDU started at the beginning of 2011 - more than 2 years. Clearly taking my sweet time with it, but it's not quite that simple. I think (That is, the programming as opposed to the designing). So I started GDU before I was capable of making it. So, what next? Next up is the big clean up. Biiiig cleanup. We have 2 new sections + the gallery. The Scripts and Tuts sections were written by me, boom, and we'll stick with the 3rd party gallery for now (even though it's kinda shit). So what we're gona do is shift that content into their respective sections, out of the forums. RMU forums are for the individual to get help, not authored content that's regularly searched for. The end result on the forums is something like Forums = discussions + individual help. The clean up will see all the tutorials and scripts forum gone and the content moved into their proper sections. This is a particularly big task for RMXP topics. If you want to find that awesome stuff, there's plenty to links to get you there. These are the new places where our authors will author. These have all the functions of a topic (obviously) but a heck of a lot more.Especially the editors, which are made to make authoring anything REALLY easy Then there's the gallery... All you guys created your own albums for your resources. Thanks for that. I'm gona dump all that content into their proper categories in the Game Dev Resources (you can remove your content anytime if there's an issue with that). The albums arn't used any longer and its essentially hidden content. They will get used much more this way. So what happens after the cleanup? Game section :D And I will then have enough custom systems in place to come out with some really cool custom profiles. These will be aimed to show off the user as a game dev, not so much a social profile. Sort of like a resume of game a dev, something along those lines. And of course I hope to evolve the site into other game types of game makers. I hope that gives some of you hope that we're not closing down and I'm still working towards those original GDU goals. We may have to weather the storm for a while, but we're definitely going to be on the rise soon :)

Thanks Dolarmak. I'll definitely be working to get all the sections done like VXA, and a lot more too. Maybe even a games section D: Right now though I got a cluster of assessments so I can't spare any time till april :(

I forgot to mention that link above that you posted isnt the link i used. Your link redirects me. If you open the link in the browser and the image comes up then you should be fine. Aside from that, if you think I'm wrong, open the link a url and use something like firefox's firebug and yslow (or something similar, chrome probs have the tools built in) and look at the headers sent out by the url/image As in the image, the content type is image/png. In other words, not a url that redirects. But like I said, if opens as an image in your browser in a new tab and ends in .png i will be very suprised if it doesn't work.
-
Great, thanks. I'm spending every waking hour studying at the moment... it will probably be 2 weeks till I can do anything.
-
Thanks, I'll look into that issue when I have time...
-
Are you sure you copied the right link?
-
Post it so I can see?
-
Was randomly browsing google images when le suddenly You said Pol, nao you gotta post. There's only so many images of you I have on my harddrive. In my "homework" folder...
-
Nope that was an example. You should have no issue posting images unless you post a dynamic image, eg one which does not end with the file-extension because its a dynamic page sending an image to the browser.
-
I know you are. How else are you gona post an image? The url of the image that you're using in the img tags must end in a valid file extension, eg .png. Not .png?i453o2ijdfs Just post the exact link that wont work.
-
I'm pretty certain the issue here is that your URL doesn't end with png. If it did, you wouldnt get that message.
