  2. Weclome to RMU  Are there still RMXP forums out there? :P Glad you decided to finally sign up.
  3. Just read some US legislation regarding the poorly named offenses (given perceptions) involving "weapon of mass destruction", which apparently is anything that goes boom (even a grenade) and judges get a full range of discretion on punishment: from no imprisonment to death. Someone's screwed.

  4. I think I've only ever watched 4 or 5 :P 1. Death Note 2. Bleach 3. Lovely complex (omg so good) 4. That one with Dante who shoots ppl
  5. First time using my own computer in days D:

  6. I am thinking about going with a new module below recent posts, "recent scripts". These things aren't technically new posts, but the main focus is getting what's new out there, and I know most people soley look at recent posts. I've got a bunch of things planned for recognition of new content such as scripts and tuts, etc. I'm going to write it at a slow pace though. I've been working a lot recently. What I've got planned after my super secret new update coming soon is to do up the front pages of each engine, the scripts and tutorials, and the homepage. I've got a plan, and we'll go from there in developing them into becoming effective at getting authors recognition.
  7. I haven't played the game... at first I thought this [that one where your in a car and you gotta run into stuff to knock the zombies off and shoot them as well] but it's obviously not. You should add screenies of the game play to add that bit extra to the review. You might get a few visitors wanting to download the app after reading the review.
  8. Wow that looks amazing  Great job Chief. Your skills have increased while you've been gone.
  9. This is a 16min video about a guy who records his inputs into NES games, mainly mario, and he wrote a program that sends its own inputs into the rom to see if it can create a combination to win. It's really worth watching through
  10. I've been busy recently, but I'm working on a pretty big site update. I think you guys are gona like it :)

  13. Yeah that's right, that sort of advanced search would be impossible with google because it relies on access to our database. Ok Pol, this gives me an idea. I am thinking beside the google search (which we'll call "global site search") we have a drop down called "search by section", and you will be able to use more advanced search systems. But it will go directly to this page: http://www.gdunlimited.net/forums/index.php?app=core&module=search&search_in=forums And there will be others for when I write them up for the other sections. I'll make this soon (ish).
  14. This is the reason I made it a topic, in case there were problems. No tutorial is necessary for how to use search. You basically just search whatever you want to find. It's not really different from your usual search, it searches everything on the page so you can find those specific things. If you're looking for a members posts you could just include the username in the query or go to his profile. If you're looking for scripts then generally you include scripts in your query so there's no issue there. There's no trick to it, its just a common sense string of key words for what you're looking for. I can have the old search somewhere, but this search is going to be far superior for the majority. Try it out and let me know if you have troubles finding what you're looking for.
  15. It can get heavy on the ads. And nope, you may have noticed I hate obtrusive ads. That's the price for using the search. I can pay to get rid of the ads, but then I'd need ads to pay for the lack of ads... If you're making a game with RPG Maker it'd be silly not to :P Try adding "profile" to the end of your query.
  16. Hi guys, Today I have removed the forum search system from the header and replaced it with a custom google search. Try it out. This change is essential. The forums search did well to categorize results, sort them, etc. It's safe to say we're moving beyond a forum to unique website with unique systems. Using google search, our visitors should be able to find content across the entire the website. You may have noticed a new slider on the homepage (btw the homepage is a big WIP) That's already 118 scripts/tutorials that you cannot find via the old search. These should all now be found in the new search. If you look at the little counter top-right, you will see how many more pages we're going to move outside of the forums, and they tend to be pages people want to find. This doesn't mean there will be other internal search systems. For example, in the scripts section, there will be a search form that will just search scripts and results will show up on the page, as well as for other sections. So yeah, I hope that helps
  17. From this and your profile you seem to be one frustrated dude. Yeah, making games is supposed to be fun. Don't let these things get to you. There's plenty of fun stuff to do other than the one part you're stuck on. I hope you figure it out.
  18. Great, thanks  I moved about 30 yesterday. The RMXP section is a big job. I think I'll use my new found free time to work on some new features and when uni starts up again slowly work on moving the content through. I forgot about that with regards to those posts... thanks for reminding. I've got a ton of cleaning up to do. I could work full time for months on the site and never run out of things to do :P I've got to setup post count, points, notifications and edit/reply tools for the posts in the scripts section (and soon the tutorials section). I ought to get a new search system up also. The current only searches forum posts. So much to get done... but I'll get there.
  19. I wish I could understand them too. I've been thinking about the engines pages recently. The last number on the right is the bounce rate. This means about 80% visitors leave the page. So the content on this page is really quite useless to people. I'm thinking about having the downloads and info etc down the the left sidebar and having the main content related to new content; games, tuts, scripts, resources, the usual. Hopefully that will reduce the bounce rate and visitors will keep clicking through. By the way bigace, the VXA scripts page has jumped to #3 most viewed over the last month, behind only the forum index and homepage. Good job
  20. Finished moving all the VX scripts into the scripts section.. *tired*

  21. Sweet, thanks! http://www.gdunlimited.net/engines/rpg-maker-xp I wanted the screenies for the engines to be made by the community, but they were like errgafdikjdfask minecraft. So I stole a few from the screenshot thread :D
