Is it ok to use ROMS, Flashcarts, and the like if the games are not longer sold or are extremely overpriced and hard to find?

Thats a good point Jon, Kickstarters do one thing: release game making companies from the publishers. If you look at pretty much all money grabbers (EA, Activision, and Ubisoft) its not the game companies that are grabbing for the money, Its the publishers, though in the case of Sims 3 I'm not so sure http://penny-arcade....de/crowdfunding http://penny-arcade....bout-publishing http://penny-arcade....king-conditions Watch these for a good idea of just what game designers have to go through before they can actually get their game released. So people who do say that there is no more pride in game design need to direct their fire(their paycheck) elsewhere. There are other game companies that make incredibly good games (Valve, Double Fine, Creative Assembly, Blizzard, and many more.) I'll leave you guys to come up with your own opinions based on the videos.

Actually, I have no idea o.o I've thought the same thing myself, I'm sure you could look through the forums for emails or send the submitters a message. its usually on the song credentials.

@Jon bon: if only it was limited to them, I wouldn't be making a post like this :( I would write it off as fanboy-ism and leave it alone. A good example is the upcoming X-Com games by Firaxes & 2K games and their competitor Xenonauts by GoldHalk ent. Xeno is supposed to be the spiritual inheritor of the game, meaning it tries to stay as close to the original mechanics as possible, while Firaxis is doing a 're imagining of the game' and changing mechanics they don't believe fit the game or that they can do better. If I could just find that Rock, Paper, Shotgun article... I'll find it later. My point though is that in the comments section, it broke down into a rabble of how Firaxis is ruining it. It became mud slinging after that, but , I'll stop running my mouth.

So, I've noticed a trend recently in gaming discusions. This trend seems to follow this pattern Separate games praise the old Bash the new Why do we keep doing this is my question? Is there some otherworldly force that compels us to degrade games and the people who play those games? I'd like to hear everyone's thoughts on this.

RPGMaker VX has less flexibility in its mapping. That's what I have heard around the ballpark. Also, I think what bigace might be talking about is how the sprites compare to the enviro? to make the enviro match the sprites they made more boxy?? (I honestly have no clue what I'm spouting. I'll shut up and go away if need be >.<)

Sorry again for the late reply... (blames forums following stuff for not alerting me that Klokinator had posted) what kind of error do you get when the game crashes? Edit: nvm, I think I reproduced it myself, and it looks like its not finding the names at first glance, I can't dl your third link atm to see how his demo runs your title. but it looks like it should just be a matter of finding the names listed in the second problem script, and renaming them appropriately. Edit 2: or, just renaiming stuff to match the script errors, its erroring because it can't fine collum in Graphics/Pictures. It just depends on which route you wanna take.

@luz, I have just one comment about your LoD dart sprite, his knees look like their bending kinda inward? The left knee in particular. It might just be me. So if i'm just seeing things again I'm sorry.

Hello and Welcome to RMXPU :) All I can say so far is that is an interesting take on the MMORPG formula(a very stagnate one unfortunately) and I can't wait to see what you arrive at :D

sorry I took so long, also, I am a amateur scripter, so I may not be able to help you fully. It looks like your only packing part of the script in your game. You'll need both title scripts from FE:7x (they are part of the same script... I think) If that doesn't work I'll holler for Moon, Liz, or Kell to take a look at this.

Well I'm not, getting an error Thats an older version, I haven't changed the online version to reflect what I actually have. I did try to alias the initialize the way you aliased it, and I kept getting errors.
